I think most people on here have been reasonably objective, and acknowledged his strengths and weaknesses. You can think someone is doing a decent job without feeling they are ready for 'promotion'. As you suggest it could be interesting to follow if he reappears at a 'bigger' club.

Pete Wild did a great job for us that's not in question. Towards the end of his tenure his limitations and stubbornness showed. His passion and enthusiasm are infectious amongst the team he manages but that alone does not guarantee success and ultimately he hasn't achieved a promotion in his career. His style of football gets results but is a tough watch and is not entertaining. Saturdays game at Holker street under the management of Stephen Clemece had some of the best football seen at Holker street since the Evatt days IMO. Something Wilds team didn't do.

Agree with every word of that. And on that basis perhaps no ambitious of reasonably funded club in the EFL should really touch him. But we all know someone will.

Yes. For some reason Wild does seem to be highly regarded by some Blackpool fans. Their managerial choices have a habit of sometimes being a bit left field (as do Fleetwoods).

I’d love to see PW back in a job as long as it’s not at Fylde. Still find it difficult to believe it might be anyway higher than L2 though.

The thought of him trying to get a rise out of Stephen Clemence with his banter makes me chuckle.

Excellent post - as he still had a few years left on his contract I wonder what level of payout he received and did the club lose out massively financially by his departure.

He wasn’t sacked as such a parting of the ways was agreed. It’s only speculation but I’d imagine 18 months 50% of what was left of his contract would not be to wide of the mark. Similar discussions could be happening with Adam Temple who has been absent from Holker st since the Wigan pre season game. I’d imagine a Pete wild appointment somewhere will speed up the process of a Temple agreement
