I listened to the Monday weekend review show on Radio Cumbria last night at six o'clock - they had former Carlisle player Jabo Ibehre on talking about the speculation as to who will be Simpson's replacement.
Jabo said that he thought Pete Wild would be a good replacement for Simpson - It went down like a lead balloon in the studio!

Carlisle will be looking at someone more high profile than Wild imho the money they have these days. They might well not get him but you’d expect them to approach the likes of Ryan Lowe

No idea - I couldn’t see him going there if they did mind. He is very settled where he is and our base in Manchester is convenient for him - not saying he won’t ever leave us but I couldn’t see him uprooting his family to move to Carlisle

I would think.our club would pretty much have Ian Wood tied down,contract wise,so.if Carlisle wanted to.poach him it would cost them a lot of money. Would he want to.go to a club where he has players brought in by Simpson and wouldn,t be able to bring any in until.the next transfer window?How many of the existing Carlisle players have just been given 2yr contracts.It may happen but personally think it would be highly unlikely.

Blackpool forum is in pre-meltdown mode at the very thought of Pete Wild taking charge. One poster even suggested it would provoke demonstrations reminiscent of the Oyston era if he were to be appointed .

That’s a bit harsh. It would be fun to watch that play out though.

Pete’s style of play will put a lot of fans of clubs off. I also think that aspects of his personality some of which we quite enjoyed, others would not.

Am fascinated with this apparent obsession with him. He is an unproven manager, if proving yourself means actually delivering tangible success.

As said before though, the owners of Blackpool have for many years been just that little bit left of field for it to be discounted. Ian Holloway for instance and that worked out well. The media must be praying for it as it wouldn’t lack for a fair bit of coverage.
