Another small positive, it might draw some mid week contractors working in the yard to come, still a shit decision though. As per a previous comment, maybe the police did have a say as well.

Yeah, but the difference is that on Sky+ they don't have to bother sending commentators ("You want us to go to Barrow?!") and extra cameras.

I know that. It was supposed to be on Sky Football thats the only reason we had to change the date and time.

The game before at Crewe also moved for Sky+ but at least it`s still a Saturday.

Both Clubs should appeal this decision Sky said in the new deal that 3 months notice would be issued to Clubs when changing dates and kick-off times this decision is totally wrong and I hope both Clubs don't take this decision lightly.

no we can't unfortunately because it's on SKY Football and not SKY +

What we can do about it is refuse to watch on Sky.

I was happy to watch on iFollow in previous seasons, in the knowledge that most of my money was going to the club. But I have no intention of adding to Sky's profits.

Likewise - I watched every match I could on iFollow, but none on Sky, I am not prepared to give them my money. I know they put a lot of money into football but this shows that there is a price for this …

I wonder what would happen if the clubs decided to rebel against the deal and refused to play on the Thursday citing that Sky hasn,t given them the agreed notice according to the contract and then.played the game on the original date.Surely if Sky haven,t given the agreed 3 months notice of a change to match day they are in breach of contract.

From the EFL website:

When are the TV games selected?
The notice periods for selections are as follows:

Within seven days of the 2024/25 Fixture Release selections shall be made in respect of all matches to be played before the end of September.

Before the start of the season, selections shall be made in respect of all matches scheduled to be played prior to the end of the third round of the FA Cup .

By November 1, selections shall be made in respect of all matches to be played between the end of the third round proper of the FA Cup and the first weekend of March.

Selections for matches scheduled after the first weekend in March will be made on a four-week rolling basis starting from February 1 (e.g. a selection for the first weekend in April will be selected in the first weekend in March).
