Surely this is something the FA should get involved with to help clubs following this tragic accident.

And none of your business really is it, I would of said in my original post, he'll know who he is, a respected man who's opinion would mean something,

See Whing highlighted this issue. Wondered if there is anything the club can do in the short term. Is shortening the pitch not a valid option? Would have thought it would be the easiest and quickest thing to do.? I presume the club would need to request permission from the FA / EFL to do this?

If not, hopefully we can get rid of them all together in the close season. Expensive, yes I know, but maybe a fundraiser for the club and see if there is ground improvement funds we can use? If that is still an option.

It was brought up on the Barrow social last week and it was mentioned that it was thought that the perimeter walls at Holker street are like an L shape set into the ground. I agree something needs to be done but even just to dig them out at Holker street sounds like a lenthgy and costly job. Using an air fence set in front of the wall similar to what is used in Speedway was mentioned as a possible alternative.

Togo midfielder Samuel Asamoah broke his neck in a collision with a pitch-side advertising board in China that his club says could leave him paralysed. Oct 9, 2025.
