Whits isn’t a 6ft 2 thug though who will kick, scratch and pull the opposition. He is a footballer who like Booty prefers to play in a side who dominate the ball and play a nice passing gameMatty wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 7:51 pm Strange departure all around. I could understand him going somewhere to get game time, but the fact that the title favourites believe he has something to offer whilst we don't is the headscratching part. I haven't seen anywhere near enough from the other wingers to suggest they are an improvement, despite Whitfield being short of the player we saw in his first spell.
All part of the process I guess, and there were always going to be decisions that seem odd at first.
Yet people here were adamant that they weren’t good enough for us at the time.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 8:00 pmWhits isn’t a 6ft 2 thug though who will kick, scratch and pull the opposition. I’m not sure Murray has signed the correct players for us to ever achieve the “ balance” you talk about. Whites has seen it since close season and everyday in training. The fact his agent initiated the move speaks volumes to what Whits thinks imoandyg wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 8:30 pm But Boreham Wood are not a soft touch they can mix it when they want to. In other words they have balance. We have yet to achieve that balance that's why I don't like seeing a footballer like Whitfield go out on loan. In a sense he is on trial with them. If they like him and offer us a decent fee he will go I bet. Otherwise he will be returned to us.
Nothing other than a convincing win tomorrow night will suffice IMOScott5 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 8:55 pm A baffling move really, not good enough for us a bottom four team but wanted by boreham wood, top of the league and probably the best footballing team at this level. That says it all. Obviously wasn’t fancied by a Murray and he may not be the player he once was but as he showed against Sutton, can still be a threat and cross and score. More than Walker has offered so far and Latty Fayweather, and Thompson hasn’t even played at this level before…
In fact I’d say other than ward and Marriott - Whitfield is one of the few players we have with any real technical ability.
Strange one, I’m not convinced. This is Murray’s team and ways though and if he doesn’t start delivering results soon then it’s all on him…
Already sat through six minutes of Murray making excuses before we’ve kicked a ball. No point even turning upMain Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 8:58 pmNothing other than a convincing win tomorrow night will suffice IMOScott5 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 8:55 pm A baffling move really, not good enough for us a bottom four team but wanted by boreham wood, top of the league and probably the best footballing team at this level. Booty was a player anyone with a footballing brain could have seen that (harper included in that too btw) more of a moan about recruitment and decision making to be honest. Very frustrating start to the seasonbeachy01 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 7:05 pmMcCann wanted to go, no1 ever said he wasnt good enough? Banks downed tools, ud want to keep him? Malcolm and Booty never played enough to make a judgement on. We should have kept Tom WhiteBarrowvianbedlam wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 6:57 pm
We’ve been absolutely honking for months and he’s been played out of position. Add to the list of McCann, Banks, Malcolm, Booty and White who weren’t good enough but seem to be doing very well elsewhere
Your right we have been honking, but Whitfield was part of that, out of position or not. Should have gone in the summer IMO. Another one gone from last year, happy days
As ive said previous id have been happy if they all went
Great news we are potentially changing the manager again this week.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 8:58 pmNothing other than a convincing win tomorrow night will suffice IMOScott5 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 8:55 pm A baffling move really, not good enough for us a bottom four team but wanted by boreham wood, top of the league and probably the best footballing team at this level.
