Yes, just print and complete the form from http://www.barrowafc.com/members/become.php and drop it plus the money off in the shop.

I've been a member since it started, I paid my membership and season ticket early, when the club was asking for funds to help cashflow. That was in June and I still don't have a membership card, will I be prevented from attending the AGM?

Absolutely not. I can only apologise to you and others who don't have a card.

Any member who either hasn't recieved or has misplaced their membership card can get a new one from the club shop on Saturday.

Will be picking my membership card up on Saturday then as never received one in the post.
I may also buy a Barrow AFC pencil or a sticker for my van.

WTF is it with people on this forum

A man wants to invest in the club a Barrovian exile not some crooked "Boxing Promoter" and its the end of the world.

Anyone would think that Barrow AFC is a private members club for the benefit of people on this forum. Well smell the roses.

If BAFC do not get investment there will not be a private members club anymore.

Take your heads out of the sand and look around the town 3 CIU Clubs have folded in the last two years that are open 365 days a year not 30 ish days a year probably with bigger memberships and lower debts than BAFC, Hawcoat Part is just hanging on since BAE pulled the plug.

If you don't like what Mr Casson has to offer can I suggest the membership of this forum take it into your own hands and invest in the club you so love, because if you don't you will not have a club to follow much longer and the sooner you realise that the better.

Not sure if it has been previously mentioned but any transfer of the ground would need the consent of ASDA whilst the option period is still applicable.

The option is still referred to on the registered title for Holker Street and still has 3 years (as of 13th Feb this year) remaining.

People have said that this no longer applies but I have not seen any evidence to support this. Perhaps a question for the AGM?

Ah! See you have also escaped the parochial view R/R, by getting about a bit. Away from the imaginary check-point Charlie at the end of the A590. ;)

Yeah - thanks for that you two; we are not so paroachial that we can't see that it is highly complicated, I think we all want Mr Casson onboard if it is at all possible to do so.

And some of us have lived abroad but come back to where the Lakes meets the sea for some bloody good reasons - our footy team being one of them.

So many things are regarded with suspicion. However, rightly or wrongly, by journeying away from the town and finally settling in the West Country, a bit of a curtain swishes open. Go for the investor without the wherefores if you want to keep on going.

We were in the hard-up position 3 years ago. Busted flush, down on our uppers, virtually kaput. National advert placed for a buyer for the club, together with the help of our ex-MP/member of the board, finally netted another local, Dale Vince, to do the rescue.

OK, so things were done with respect to food, badge, all things green. But to date, we have something of a smart make-over, lots of publicity and a new era of management, not to mention players. Yes, we are met with some sort of derisory reaction based on envy, but we have had a further 2 and a half seasons of football, irrespective of what Mr. Vince's long term investment plans are.
That's just it though isn't it? It's just advertising, PR and a bit of a hobby for Mr Vince.

The hesitation is not about the "parochial" locals not wanting investment, it's about trying to ensure that the future of the club is protected as best as is possible.

Amen, protect the clubs ground/facilities then im open to any new investor, Can not or will not then you'd have to question long term motive & pass on the offer.

So travelling the world (well, Renfrew) opens your eyes to the first guy that comes along waving a cheque book, huh? Give me a healthy dose of scepticism any day. And, er, I, too, have lived and worked all over the country. Thanks.

Be a disaster is we kept the Keen's in. We will never progress with them as long as they are in charge. Casson on the other hand has the finances to allow us to progress

That's EXACTLY it.

I'm sure PC knowing what has happened in the past will totally understand us being a little nervous, if he's genuine & he want's what's best for the club, he'll be doing his best to reassure us at his meeting.
