Why does everything end up being about pies?
I never really eat in grounds, want a pie then take one in your pocket.

It's a good Pie-dia though, I don't think it's all just pie in the sky, in pie point of view we should be looking at selling pie in the ground, as the demand seems huge. Anyway back to football, I just hope we get Pieyan Yates back for this game, otherwise who's gonna steak out the midfield?

Yeah i'd have to agree, they are unbelievable pies, never knew they got them from Grange.

Seems like the queue is way to long at half time, I often walk to the other corner to get served, not sure how they're going to handle a near capacity game on Saturday. Anyway on a lighter note.

Makes you wonder if these fans wanting pies all the time actually have anything to eat in their homes?
Just have some Lunch/Dinner before the game. The game only lasts 90 mins - then you can go home and have some Tea...

It's all about the mythical 'matchday experience' we heard so much about once upon a time.

No pies gets Barrow plenty of publicity though . must be one of the only grounds that doesn't sell pies, perhaps could get a multI national pie manufacturer to supply them as an advertising gimmic foc ?

it's an "experience " of sorts!

I've got plenty of food at home, I just love crap burgers with a massive pile of ketchup and onions.

Might stop off at a bakery for a Meat and Potato (Or Potato and Meat as it's usually sold these days) on the way, though: I don't fancy those queues.

I thought Greens still held that acolade?

I very rarely buy pies these days - I like to cook my own food so I know what's in it . However, having been brought up across the road from Greens in the 70s, I can honestly say I never tasted a better pie in Barrow, or any where else for that matter. The queues were testimony to their quality. I often looked from our living room in astonishment at the number of people waiting to savour them.

I also remember a coach of Orient fans turning up outside the public park one Saturday morning, prior to their afternoon fixture with us, asking for the nearest chippy. We directed them down the road to Greens. They returned and ate their pies whilst watching us play footy before asking us for the obligatory contest. Needless to say, us young guns of LA13 hammered those pie eating Cockneys! A good bunch, mind, who also affirmed the savoury delights of the Greens Pie...

Everyone saying just bring your own pies etc.This is just one example of how poorly the club is run. There is obviously enough interest by fans who want pies. The catering is okay, but could definitely be improved. If there was more choice and at a reasonable quaility, people would buy food at the ground. Untill there are improvements, fans will carry on handing their money to other businesses.

I agree that there is clearly a dormant demand for pies. Delish would clean up at HS (as they are inarguably the best by miles). I disagree that the current catering is ok. It's atrocious. Poor standard of food and drink on offer, slow processing time (and so you get long queues) and very little evidence that any of the criticism is being digested...much like their 'burgers'.
