I will gladly give you £100 Ian to be "immortalised"spirit of 1990 wrote:Sorry Peter, cant believe I missed out the important bitUncle Peter wrote:Spirit, how much would each section cost? Just to give people an idea.![]()
We are looking at £100 per twenty foot section (aprrox size) We think that eight to ten plaques would look pretty good & not look like we're sticking them up all over the place.
We were thinking that any groups that frequent the same standing places might want to chip in to have a plaque behind "their spot" with their names on it, five people - 20 notes each & it'll be there for xxxxx amount of years. The plaques will be professionally made & look the part.

Re: Ground maintenance area
Mrsenario & myself ordered the tongue & groove for the Turnstile doors today as well as ordering a transformer for some of the tools we have.
The doors should be fit sometime over the summer along with the rest of the re-furb of the turnstiles.
While looking at the pop side turnstiles I got talking to the owner of the car body repair shop & he told me it looks like someone has been kicking in the doors again to get into the ground, pretty sad really as there's obviously nothing of any real value in the ground. He very kindly offered access to his CCTV system but it'd mean trawling through hours of images. He also offered to let us connect up to the system he already has if we wanted to buy another camera, perhaps something to look into in the future.
Would be fantastic to catch someone on CCTV & plaster his kipper all over the place, [SwearFilter] scum.

You could have painted it blue &white Elaine and put your own plaque on itHolkerbird wrote:There was a sheet of corrugated metal lying on the pavement this morning on the stand side of Wilkie Road. I hope the wind hadn't dislodged it from the ground as it could have caused a nasty accident. The sooner we get things sorted the better.

Re: Ground maintenance area
Yes, forced their way into the ground again. I thought I was going to spend today cleaning in the clubhouse but had to spend most of the afternoon outside clearing up. They had smashed a plastic advertising board and thrown it all over the HS end and placed two turnstile doors against the segregation scaffolding having already pulled some of that apart. They were too heavy for me to move but I did manage to close the gap they had made to get in on the Wilkie Road side.
One toilet had been vandalised with the toilet paper holder ripped off the wall and the sheets thrown all over the floor and the hand soap container put down the toilet.
It looked like they were going to pinch one of the flags too as that was furled up by the gap ready to take. I have now hidden it as best I can.
I cannot understand individuals who want to destroy things but that is how things are I am afraid.

Re: Ground maintenance area
Ian if money and hard work are being put into the cladding etc, maybe the cctv thing would be a good idea. Wouldn't want cladding and other good work vandalised? Night watchman anybody?(plus dog/s)

RE -CLADDING
Was out last night on my brothers "wetting the babies head night" & managed to get two more sponsors - they can't hide anywhere
That's seven & closing rapidly on the ten we're looking for.
