Yes there's been ups and downs, but in 1999 when they took over I think many would have taken promotion, an unprecedented 5years in the Conference, an FA Trophy win, away trips in the FA Cup 3rd Round to Sunderland and Middlesbrough and a very encouraging youth system in place in the course of their 15years in charge

The board have my thanks
This I agree 100%, but then I suppose a lot that comment on here about the BOD dont remember the extent of what happened in 1999.

This is what I'm interested in. Supporters still having a route to investing in the club, working independently, but in support of the future board. Surely Barrow fans (members) would still want a voice in the running of the club?

I wonder if the new investor welcomes the asset management group or ground volunteers as some like to call it?..

Will he embrace free work done or will it become a closed shop and back to paid contractors to do the work leaving us last of the summer wine lads to find an alternative past time?

Well if , at last , the takeover is allowed to proceed, let's hope not ... you've been doing a terrific job - maybe you could become the 'paid contractors' ? :geek: :flag:

If it came to a vote on any take-over would it be a show of hands or a secret ballot, this has got to be done right.
it could be done at the crossbar or the forum, we must be sure only members vote, show your card and you get a vote.

Only members would get to vote.
I don't know where the venue would be but if it was likely there'd be so much interest then they'd switch any EGM to the Forum, if the Cross Bar isn't likely to be sufficient. At the AGM's they have people at the door with a membership list checking everyone entering is a member and it would be the same for an EGM. Any member who doesn't have proof of membership can bring along some form of ID.

Uncertain as to whether they'd do a show of hands or a ballot but if some members want a ballot they need to get in touch in advance to request a ballot on a specific vote, that is the same for all motions/votes that take place at any AGM or EGM.

Bump: I wonder if PC will be consulting ASDA before he makes his move? They are certainly a neighbouring big hitter and still have a purchase option on the ground I believe. They were also willing to let their land – the Furness Rovers operation – be the car park for the doomed NHS/BAFC project. So they seem to be on our side, willing to accommodate the club’s needs and maybe willing to enter into another financial agreement of some kind. Food for thought - at ASDA price!

Just under a fortnight ago it was mentioned that talks were progressing and another joint statement would be made in 7-10 days so hopefully progress has been made a further statement will be issued this week?
Having said that BK was quoted in Saturdays Mail as saying that talks were ongoing and there was nothing further to report?
