There are only 2 ways out of this now either back him(edmo) or sack him!

just be satisfied with the fact we still have a club. Criticise aspects by all means but don't denigrate the people who have made sure the club continues to exist.
Well said that man.

Have changed my view about the current Edmo thing.
It's all to do with what Mr Casson thinks.
Sadly we aren't rich, or even comfortable.
Without Mr Casson we'd probably be down the pan.
He is Barrovian and I believe he has the best interests of the club at heart.
Whether that is running in tandem with a bit of an ego trip is irrelevant.
If he loses interest in the club, the club would probably cease to exist in any meaningful way.
Let him meddle with management, let him play centre forward if he wants, but please let him keep spending his money.
With a fair wind we may get back into The Football League before that long and we should all rejoice if that happens and know who to thank.

Couldn't agree more.

Sadly money drives most things in life these days - certainly football.
All the successful clubs nationwide and internationally are minted, both currently and historically.
It is possible to buy instant success.
That's why international events like Euro and World Cup are so good, or should be...
The interesting thing from our aspect is that we've got some money, from Mr Casson, but how, where and when is it being used?
To get the best manager in, to get the best players to join the club, to build a new stadium, to have great training facilities?
Perhaps it's none of our business, but I'd be interested to know what the dosh is spent on.
The players in and around our league are journeymen, with lots of movement at the ends of seasons (e.g look where Simon Grant has played in his career); can't blame them in the slightest to try to go where they'll get paid best.
Selecting good ones when the transfer market is available is vital.
I'm a big Edmo fan, but don't think he's been successful in that area.

If it`s so easy to get success, why did Luton take so long?

You say we have money, but you nor me know how much is going to be spent also the amount has to be relevant to the other clubs in our league,to get the best players here is not just about the money it`s whether they will move up here, apart from the lakes there`s not that much to attract them!
Don`t forget there are agents involved as well, the danger is you can get "stung" as well chadwick/goodfellow spring to mind (don`t know if you were here then)

As for the euro`s/world cup that (on the pitch) has nothing to do with clubs having money.

I`d like to know how you are a big edmo fan what is this based on?

Thanks for the questions and comments.
Euro/World cup, that's my point - can't buy players to compete, you are stuck with what you've got. Look at Belgium currently..(on paper anyway)
Not saying it's easy with money, but at least you have a chance. With nothing these days - no chance.
Re the money, I think you've repeated my point on this - where is it going? Perhaps the humble fan will never be privy to where, what, how, who, when?
I think above everything the club needs Mr Casson and his benevolence at the moment, and perhaps as far as the eye can see.
Re the players - most are based in Lancs area, near to training in Lancaster. I accept, not going to get too many southerners wanting to sign up (unless the money is right......)
Finally I like Edmo because he seems to be honest, straightforward and an all round decent bloke. He's not totally pants as a manager because we got promoted last season. I don't like long ball football, but whether you play it depends on the quality of your own players, an the quality of the opposition. I think Edmo's biggest failing has been his selection of players to "strengthen" the squad. All pretty poor except Ashton and George W.

Think Casson and Edmo have a bit in common to be honest, neither getting much right at the moment, one off the pitch, the other on it. But I think we should cut them a bit of slack and give them until the new year to sort this out before sharpening the knives. As for the village-idiots who seem petrified that The Casson will one day jack it all in I've some news...he will... and we'll still be here and we'll still have a football club.

I reckon it's a preference for him to stay rather than a petrification - he's potentially a quicker route to the club playing a better standard of football in a better league.
Without backing like his we will still have a club, all so called village idiots can revel in watching Matlock Town and Skelmersdale United when we sit mid table in The Evo Stick league in front of 350 fans.

Is anyone actually under the impression that Casson is going to own the club for life?

I thought we were all fairly aware that that doesn't seem to be his intention.

Casson originally stated, I believe, that his plan was to give the club a solid foundation to build upon, as something of a legacy for his father: which to me seems realistic and sensible. Better to have an achievable, defined set of goals with an approximate budget (even if budget and goals aren't tightly defined), and work toward them.

If Casson fixes up the ground, puts us into the league, and gives us a financial foundation to hold our own there, that's all any of us could've hoped for and far more than we could have ever asked for out of someone else's pocket.

The only thing I think he could do wrong is put us into the league with a cash injection, but without building the base to help sustain it: ie dumping money into the squad without developing the ground. That's my only real fear.
