Dave, a former member of this forum, I know exactly what you are both saying & pretty much agree, all I can say in the clubs defence (and this isn't as a director, just my own personal opinion) is the people involved at the club after last seasons title winning game had to virtually start from scratch....renewing contracts, ending contracts, organising the step up from P/T to F/T, getting work done on the X Bar, the X Bar roof, sorting the floodlights to meet H&S requirements, new pitch laid, all the up-grade in equipment to look after the new pitch....I could go on and on but these are the facts so looking at the fixture list in August 2015 for the players presentation in April 2016 might not have been given the attention it deserved.
I know what I say will get picked to death with answers of what could've & should've been done but that is honestly how I see it.

I'll say (promise) right now that I will definitely bring this up with the BoDs & Emma (as soon as she gets settled in) for the 2016-17 season with hopefully the Trust being involved as well so we can all make it a better organised event for next year.

Ah, there's a but!!

I know and agree with a lot of what some of you are saying, I just tried to give a quick alternative view - which as I said it's easy enough for it to be ripped apart by anyone who wanted to. I suppose with me being pretty unorganised myself I have some sympathy with these sort of things.
It's an obvious one in hindsight and like I say, I'll be right on it & reminding whoever it concerns (as far as I can) as soon as the new fixtures are out next season. It's a bit like the anniversary Dave mentioned that the club or Trust should be celebrating next season, that was great someone pointed that out and now the Trust have plans for that and I suppose the club will also (something else for me to remind them of) It hasn't been the easiest of seasons for some fans & club alike I suppose but lets just see if all these things come together for next season....if they don't then fair enough....fire away, but in the meantime there is plenty to be happy about as well.

Cook for me simply as someone said at the beginning without his goals at start of season we'd have been [SwearFilter].

Whole organisation of events at the club is a shambles and has been for a while. Again like someone has said this should be a night where the awards are given out, next seasons kit is available, player sponsorship etc available for next season etc etc etc a proper arranged evening not just a quick awards give out before the players rush off home

To be fair, a joint event set-up between the Trust & club was spoken about at a recent Trust meeting, and that was to hold the event after the Wrexham game. I mentioned this with the club and even though everyone seemed to think this was a good idea it was simply too short notice to organise & charge for.

Another sticking point was how we could stop people coming into the bar from the corporates as it hadn't been advertised, add to that the sheer amount of people who are expected with it being Wrexham and obviously the last game and it just had all the ingredients for it not working or worse, being a total disaster.

I'm fairly certain that the club will look at doing a joint event next season with the Trust & it being advertised from the moment the new seasons fixtures are announced as an awards evening (closed bar, food, players staying, ticketed etc)

Surely it doesn't take much to find a compromise that suits most people - give the players notice asking them to stay a bit later or overnight after the last game and do a deal with a local hotel for the players who are staying over. In previous seasons the players have stayed over after the last game or stayed till the awards ceremony which has been at say 7 in the evening or perhaps it could be at 9 with the later kick-off this time, as it will give the players (and some fans) a chance to go back to where they are staying and get changed and in addition there wouldn't be away fans there at that time.

Completely ridiculous having it so early before the seasons end and also outside where there won't be the same atmosphere as if it was inside. How long after the final whistle will it be before the ceremony takes place - as its outside nobody will be able to drink either I presume so we'll all just be standing around waiting. If we lose to Macclesfield how many will hang around outside with no drink to see the presentation - not many. What exactly will happen if it rains - the fans won't get to see it?

I'm supposed to be in corporate that day but we'll lose half an hour plus, waiting for and doing the awards when we won't be able to drink - presume we will be able to stay longer afterwards if we can't eat and drink during the outdoor presentation? If not I'm tempted not to do the corporate that day?
