Re: HARTLEPOOL V BARROW MATCH THREAD
I hope these penalty misses don't affect the rest of the team as the pressure is going to be on whoever takes the next one, if we are awarded one that is.The Barrow support sounded in fine voice which must be good for team morale. Bring on Saturday.

Re: HARTLEPOOL V BARROW MATCH THREAD
As you say S.B Some team soon is going to get a real pasting.
Re: HARTLEPOOL V BARROW MATCH THREAD
A good solid and tireless display, hard to single anyone out as it was a complete team effort.
But Connor Brown put his body on the line a couple of times, once to block a certain goal. Taylor was clever in his play and Burgess and Smith carried on from where they left off on Saturday. So close to making it a memorable evening, but more than happy with us getting a valuable point on the road.

As S.B & G.T. said someone is going to get a pasting. Hope it’s Fylde.

Re: HARTLEPOOL V BARROW MATCH THREAD
Disappointed to miss yet another penalty firstly. Have to say we defended set pieces a lot better today, however I think this may have been due to Hartlepool throwing themselves to the floor at every opportunity. To come away with a point on the most part is satisfying given how poor we were in the first half. I thought we had revisited last season again with the football being played. I don't rate Molyneux at full-back either, beaten far too easily many times, but as said a point is a good result in the end. Glad to see Blyth on the pitch.

My first game of the season. Barrow fans were amazing... singing and noisy all game. Decent performance... just feel we need a bit more physicality up front to make the ball stick and build from there. Miles better than the dross I watched last couple of seasons footballing wise.

Re: HARTLEPOOL V BARROW MATCH THREAD
Both sides defended well. The game was played at a high tempo and at times was a bit frantic, I just thought at times we needed to be a bit calmer. Solid, resilient performance but we didn't offer much in attack. If we had scored the penalty, I guess it would have balanced out the Solihull smash and grab.

Re: HARTLEPOOL V BARROW MATCH THREAD
Looked more like two equally inept sides in the final third cancelling each other out to me. Keepers made one save each in 1st-half and don't remember either making one in the 2nd. Home ground was impressive and that pitch was Premiership quality. As for the away support, as resounding as it was, I like it when it reflects what's going on in front of them. Christ if they'd have put 11 wheelie-bins on in Barrow-shirts they'd still be there now chanting what is undoubtedly the worst song I've ever heard from any set of Barrow-fans (and I know my BBB's from my TMF's children)...you know which one I mean that 'BARROW, BARROW, BARROW ******* SOCCER'. Banning-orders all round the next time that embarrassment raises its pathetic head.

I'd have popped along to this if I wasn't living the high life at the Sunderland v Stoke u21s Checkatrade Trophy Group A extravaganza.
Hoping to get to at least 1 Barrow home match this season, and maybe the match at Gateshead.
Good to see a bit more belief and happiness on this board.

Re: HARTLEPOOL V BARROW MATCH THREAD
Whilst I'd love to see us give Fylde an absolute pasting, I'd rather not have to wait until after Christmas for it to happen!! So, if we could deliver a couple of pastings in the near future, and then another couple over Fylde, that would be perfect.
No pressure, Mr Evatt!!

Re: HARTLEPOOL V BARROW MATCH THREAD
It was 1-1 so a point each. But group games go to penalties if the match is drawn and the winner gets a bonus point, we won 4-2 on pens so onward an upwardsHolkerbird wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 4:07 pmWith those credentials we are honoured to have you post on our forum.
