BARNET x BARROW match thread
Re: BARNET x BARROW match thread
Jameson had a shocker. Barthram had a shocker. Jennings had a shocker. Blyth had a shocker. Evatt had a shocker, taking our two biggest attacking threats (Kay and Angus) off and leaving the perpetually ineffective Blyth on beggared belief.
Woeful perfomance all round. Today surely cemented Jason Taylor as the winner of every single player of the season award.

It was always going to be a tough task for Jennings he's simply had next to no game time. Taylor has got to be up there along with Dixon and Jones for the plaudits. As decent a player as Hardcastle may be it was a goalscorer we needed.Spanner wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 7:39 pm Jameson had a shocker. Barthram had a shocker. Jennings had a shocker. Re: BARNET x BARROW match thread
The issue is clear. We have one of the lowest number of goals scored in the division (18th). If you take out our three top goalscorers of the season: Smith (10), Hindle (9), Rooney (5), we have scored ELEVEN goals. That is quite a worrying statistic, especially when our number 9 has only scored two of those.
Re: BARNET x BARROW match thread
The lack of goals is down to the fact that nobody shoots - they are still doing their fancy football in the final third. Probably the way the manager wants it.

Barnet sat off Barrow a lot for the last 10 minites is why. Only had to think about going forward.Nigel Bamford wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 4:52 pm Why haven't we played like this in the previous 80 minutes? Sounds like a completely different team.

Re: BARNET x BARROW match thread
Back in Barrow after a pretty poor away trip. Shite game, nice stadium but no atmosphere at all. Reminds me of Fylde, but at least they have cask beer, an away terrace and cheap tickets to redeem them.
Should have been 4-1 as they were denied a blatent penalty. Next 4 games are going to be tough!

Think people have got to realise we have been left high and dry.
There is no money to bring in a forward we need.
Evatt has the team defensively usually well organised and we do need a striker but the cupboard is bare
Just got to stick with it and not get on there backs

Re: BARNET x BARROW match thread
Positives from today's game
1. I thought Hardcastle had a decent first half. Rooney was solid and Turner played well when he came on.
2. They had a clear penalty that wasn't given.
3 The facilities were good for the away support.Decent bar, toilet facilities, and Viewing position was reasonable.
Negatives
1 We gave away a sloppy first goal.
2.Dior Angus missed a sitter. Why do we as a team try to blast the ball rather than getting it on target.
3 Seriously the first time their keeper had to save an effort on target was in the 78th minute from a Dan Jones header, how bad is that stat.
4 Why don't we send more corners and free kicks into the box rather than trying to over play.
5. They weren't that great if we'd not gone behind early on against the wind they were there for the taking.
6 I thought there was a handball in the lead up to their second .

Re: BARNET x BARROW match thread
with Tyler we would be in top 7 no doubt about it. created loads. No proven scorer. Blyth will score 20 a season but at present has no confidence and trying too hard. ( never happens when a player is in that mode.) We are a very good team but forwards are OVER trying. clear chances arrive but our lads lack composure and snap shots all over the place. Will come good , but need another Tyler Smith or two. Every faith.
Seasons to be cheerful.Part 16 3/4

For the wage bill we have, we are doing fine. Just got to managae the squad with some continuity moving forward instead of the wholesale changes of the last few years.Pedro wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 11:59 pm Think people have got to realise we have been left high and dry.

Re: BARNET x BARROW match thread
Watched Solihull last night and the only difference with us is simple and stark. They started with 100-year old Nathan Blissett and Danny 'thug' Wright up front with top scorer Adi Yussuf, remember him, 'rested' on the bench. Common denominator of the three is they are out and out goalscorers not tippy-tappy
can't make my mind up strikers. Yussuf only came on with 20 minutes to go and must have had half a dozen shots the last of which went in for the fifth goal in injury time. Our lads seem afraid to have a go in case they miss. On another unconnected note lets not forget we had FIVE defenders missing yesterday not to mention our most influential midfielder. Throw in players like Higgins and Turner with little game time under their belt and the fact that Barnets league position is clouded by their number of games in hand and it makes yesterdays result no surprise.

We score plenty of well worked team goals, but dont take on the half chances. I think that is down to player confidence in front of goal.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 9:31 am Watched Solihull last night and the only difference with us is simple and stark. Re: BARNET x BARROW match thread
Even when we get the chances we waste them.
Dior Angus was guilty of atleast 2 yesterday, the first of which was that bad even a port vale scout sat infront of me watching him was kicking chairs and throwing his notepad around.
We just aren’t clinical enough infront of goal.

Re: BARNET x BARROW match thread
Blyth will never score 20 goals a season in this team, he needs loads of crosses into the box
Going out of the trophy early has killed the season off really, nothing to play for bar making sure we get those last few points to guarantee safety
