Suspensions and what did Fylde Chairman write ?

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

Does anyone have any screenshots of the best reviews of Tangerine Holdings? Can't be arsed signing up and getting more junk mail.

Ask him to add an other "a" to his name so we could get "he hoary vain death tw*t"

Time to move on as I suspect he'd be getting some pleasure from our displeasure. Just remember that by "revealing" certain things that might have happened and concealing others that did or didn't he's effectively trying to f**k with our minds. As IE himself as said, this is all because at the end of the day some people cannot take no for an answer. Rest assured whatever happens to IE in future he wont be going to AFC Fylde for which I for one am truly grateful.

Oct 14: BBC: 'Barrow have rejected an approach from AFC Fylde to talk to boss Ian Evatt about their managerial vacancy. "Ian is extremely loyal and honest and would like to put on record he had no interest in speaking with Fylde," said Barrow chairman Paul Hornby.

Jan 01: AFC Fylde Programme: "We had some serious discussions with Ian and we thought we had a deal agreed, only for him to renege and stay with Barrow", said Fylde Chairman David Haythornthwaite.

Ian Evatt does not DENY speaking with David Haythornthwaite, he only disputes the outcome and any final agreement.

He did NOT have permission from the Board to even enter into discussions, BUT HE DID, apparently....

As per Barrow Chairman, "Would like to put on record he had no interest in speaking with Fylde, as he's extremely loyal and honest".

Come again Paul? :oops:

Haha, integrity - and there you are siding with the man in this situation with absolutely no integrity at all.

Absolutely NOT siding with DH.

What he said publicly was totally out of order (even if true..)

But when did '2-wrongs make a right'?

IE is/was on Contract to Barrow AFC and the Chairman of the Board specifically denied permission for Fylde to have discussions with our Manager (BCC Oct 14) which they both dis-regarded as 'Behind the Goals' correctly said on Jan 02:

"So how the hell did Ian Evatt have serious discussions with the AFC Fylde owner if he is on contract with Barrow AFC and did Paul Hornby give permission (NO) or did he go behind his back (SEEMINGLY SO)

Truth matters.

IE did nothing wrong the discussions will have been with his agent who played a blinder on IE behalf by getting his client an improved contract at Barrow. End off story.

There is a third option, i.e. Fylde initiated the contact regardless of permission - in which case it is hardly Evatt's fault.

Any claims of lack of integrity over this matter are just plain wrong. Deal with the facts, which are :
1. An approach was made ;
2. It was rejected;
3. Ian has explained his reasons for staying, and, if that is not integrity, what is?

It is also just plain wrong to say that Barrow AFC. its Chairman or manager has misrepresented the position. Any claim by Mr H that 'detailed discussion' (whatever that means?) took place is irrelevant.
Paul Hornby said: 'IE had no interest in speaking to Fylde''. The key word is 'had'. He did not say that no discussion took place or who held that discussion (most likely via an agent). However, it is clear that no interest could be expressed, either positive or negative, before an approach had been made. Paul has committed no wrong and neither has Ian- an employee cannot be prevented from talking directly or indirectly to another prospective employer- otherwise how would people change jobs?

I think sense has to prevail. Moreover, it is extremely disappointing that based, on the facts, anyone should 'dis' the chairman or manger over an issue, which only arose in the first place because of the actions of a third party, and which has been dealt with to the huge satisfaction of Barrow AFC supporters some time ago. Any complaint now is just sour grapes.

Both Paul and Ian and their teams are doing great jobs in trying circumstances. We are top of the league, play great entertaining football and are in the best position we have been in for over 48 years. That is wonderful is it not and it is in no small part due to the efforts of Paul and Ian who has recruited, manages and has developed a squad of talented and committed professionals, who are achieving remarkable results.

It seems to me that fans have a choice. Either get on side or go away. There is so much to be positive about at this club. Let's all join together and keep brewing the perfect storm. Bluebirds forever !
