Mom Stockton for his two goals and some great touches, thoroughly deserved and what a loan signing he's turned out to be! There were others too that played their socks off which is just great to see!

Controlled the game from start to finish and it could have been a lot bigger score line. The options we have off the bench are the best we’ve ever had.

Rumor is he is quite happy here and so long as there are no contract obstacles, I sincerely hope he is!!

However, with the team we have and the desire they show I just hope we have enough regardless!!

He's been an immense signing and fair play to the club for making it happen, that decision could be the difference this season!! Fingers firmly crossed...

The coverage was fine. Don't forget they also had the Cumbrian rugby league derby to report on Whitehaven v Barrow. They always save the best until last and AJs interview with Pete Wild was certainly that.

The coverage was fine. Don't forget they also had the Cumbrian rugby league derby to report on Whitehaven v Barrow. They always save the best until last and AJs interview with Pete Wild was certainly that.

Pretty sure they've said previously they let the interactions from fans contribute to how the show is run, so it's well within our control to get involved.

We’re in an excellent position with games in hand. Also with one of the best centre halves in the league to come back at some point. Think that February blip we had was just that. Can see that Mansfield game being huge

A well-deserved 3-1 win sees us overtake Crewe into 5th place. The atmosphere at the ground was boosted by the 4,024-attendance including 437 Mariners and the display of blue and white flags.

Grimsby started brightly and a great tackle by Ray thwarted Green when he was through a goal less than two minutes in. The resultant corner was cleared and within two minutes we won a corner, also cleared.

Whitfield had a 20-yard shot saved by Cartwright in the 8th minute as we started to dominate the game. Three minutes later a cross from the left by Whitfield was picked up by Stockton in the area who fired past Cartwright for 1-0.

In the 14th minute, Grimsby gained a free kick. From Hume’s delivery, a Wood shot was blocked.

Five minutes later another good build up by Barrow saw Spence deliver a ball to Whitfield who launched it into the area for Telford to fire just wide of the left post. A minute later, a Warren ball into the area forced Cartwright into a save from a Stockton header.

Another two minutes later, man-of-the-match Stockton made it 2-0. A great run by Telford down the middle, which appeared to bamboozle Grimsby’s defence, gave him a shot which was cleared but the ball then fell to our No.23 who drilled into the left corner.

On the half-hour, the visitors replaced the injured Gnahoua with Wilson.

In the 34th minute, Feely fouled Obikwu but Hume’s free kick was cleared. In the last seconds of the half, Farman saved a Wood free kick after Hume was fouled by Campbell.

Six minutes into the second half, Chester cleared a dangerous cross from Rodgers. Tharme headed wide of the right post from Hume’s corner,

Andrews replaced Thompson for the visitors in the 68th minute. Three minutes later, Telford was booked for a foul on Rodgers and we replaced Warren, Stockton and Campbell with Worrall, Acquah and Foley. Grimsby brought on Rose and Vernam for Wood and Hume.

Grimsby started to mount a late revival In the 73rd minute Mullarkay fired a ball in from the edge of the area, Green’s header hitting the post. Seconds later a foul by Foley on Obikwu saw a Green free kick fly just over the crossbar.

However, in the 78th minute, service was resumed when Whitfield hit the bar from a narrow angle on the left. He was then replaced by Newby while Proctor came on for Telford.

In the 82nd minute, Worrall won a free kick when he was fouled by Vernam. The free kick was cleared but the ball then fell to Gotts just in the area who lashed the ball through the players into the centre of the goal for 3-0.

Green was then replaced by Holohan for the visitors and, in the 87th minute, following a free kick when Clifton fouled Newby, a Foley shot from outside the box brought a great save from Cartwright.

Grimsby never gave up however, and put us under pressure through the remainder of the game. In the 89th minute they won a corner, Vernam’s delivery for the left corner was not properly cleared and the ball fell to Obikwu on the right who slotted past Farman for a consolation goal and 3-1 .

Despite the late loss of the clean sheet, it was a really good performance which brought a lengthy ovation from the crowd for team and manager.

Got to be pleased for Gotts; in a team performance where everyone did well today, Gotts was my choice as MOTM. So for that reason his goal was justice in my eyes. The non-stop running he produced on a heavy pitch was phenomenal. It's also good that he swung at the ball and this time it paid off . . . sometimes he has shied away from having a go.

Listened to most of the sports hour coming home; both clubs had a manager interview, both clubs had fans texts etc read out, both clubs had a segment where Paul Newton spoke to the commentator and summariser at the ground. Carlisle’s were perhaps slightly longer (I didn’t time them) but nothing major imho

As for the game, Grimsby were poor and if we kept pressing we’d have won 5v0. Perhaps understandably players eased off because the game was done and dusted; but it was also great to see just how fuming Paul Farman was about losing his clean sheet. Really just hope unlike the two Carlisle away games we turn up Monday now but I have every faith these lads will
