A signed photo of the famous Matt Henney goal. Hanging on my wall. Signature just above the Crossbar.

Great picture, GT.

I would post my Tony Field one from 6th May 1967 but (a) it's not signed, and (b) at my great age I've forgotten where I put it . . . . .

Aye, what a place it use to be!

Look how rammed it was!!! One final wish for me regarding Barrow would be to experience our best ever attendance again..was it 16k?

But we can't complain about what we have now and who knows what the future holds???

It would virtually be an impossibility to get over 10k (even if the ground could hold that) as far too many Barrovians travel to the cities of Liverpool, Manchester or Leeds etc on Saturdays…..even some on here πŸ˜‰

Tony Field was my absolute hero. I'd go as far to say the best striker Barrow ever had but his stay was far too short at the club. Went to Southport halfway through the next season - was gutted. Tony Field was a winner, a finisher, par excellence. Look at his career playing ending up at Sheff Utd in Division 1 and eventually playing with Pele for New York Cosmos.

We really could do with one of our goal shy forwards to do what Tony did - but they are not the same calibre as him. However, for 90 mins one of our forwards could try and turn up & pretend to be Tony Field and do the job. We actually bought him from Halifax - there is a connection here!

By the way think the crowd against Brentford was in the region of 9000 in 1967

Maybe a few will be in the home ends? Let's see what happens if they do it again ;)

'Barrovian Bedlam' springs to mind :D
