I appreciate that, but he has played more games since. Some weren’t sure and I wondered if opinions have changed. Now I know why I don’t often post anything
From the original post "Do we see Stanway as being number 1 keeper next season?"
He hasn’t done a lot wrong in the games he’s played, definitely needs to work on his distribution.
Ultimately does Andy Whing and Iain Wood see Wyll Stanway as their number 1 next season or will he have other irons in the fire with a more experienced keeper competing and helping Stanway improve further.

Will has done well , and he’s excellent on crosses . His kicking is below par and as a young keeper he’ll probably have a drop in performance at some point. So for me he’d be 2nd to Farman if Paul stays - I hope he does - still one of the top keepers in this league and a leader in our team. To lose the whole of the midfield and attack and senior trusted keeper in one go is a big risk if it happens. Fingers crossed that we see more evolution than total change in the summer as that could go badly wrong - as our neighbours north and south have discovered at enormous cost. Up the Bluebirds!

Stanway to be Number one next season with an experienced keeper as back up pretty much like Lilis did when he was here. Farman will still want regular football so it wont be him. Will in this second spell this season has improved enormously. Far from the finished article but you have to remember he has only been a goalkeeper for a relatively short period of time. It's not as though he was a keeper when he left school far from it. If he carries on this trajectory we will struggle to keep him at the end of next season IMO. The lad is a local talent that could make us a few quid.
As for the rest of the squad we are no different to most sides in league 2 who all have big turnovers in the summer. Losing some of our big earners like Farman, Telford, Garner, Worrall wiil surely free up some cash to replace the likely loss of our midfield trio. It's going to be an interesting and exciting summer watching and listening to who we bring in.

Think it’s made a difference in this second spell he’s played this season that this time Canavan has been regularly playing; ideal as a young goalkeeper to have that communication there. If Farman is leaving as everyone seems to think I’d be happy enough with Stanway as our number 1 next season

And from my reply, some people’s opinions may have changed, forgive me for asking a simple question!! At least some people can actually see why I’m asking and reply

No mark he/she just being a pretentious [SwearFilter] and can’t understand why I’d want to ask the question. I understand the thread is there but Stanway has played a run of games since and I wondered if people’s opinion had changed. Simple I thought but obviously not.

Think Stanway will be our first choice keeper next season. He’s done well, 4 clean sheets, has stepped up to the mark and improved with each game. I think he’s ready to be Number 1 next season. Not sure what the goal keeping coach role situation is at Barrow but always think an older tried and tested keeper can assist. Keepers have got to be comfortable in taking the ball at feet quickly and playing it out of trouble often with forwards right onto them. There’s so much needed to their game compared to say even only 10 years ago

Goalkeeping coach is Luke Daniels, isn't it?
Don't let the old man in.

Wyll Stanway is definitely ready for league 2 and doesn't need loaning out to the National League or lower he has already play 106 games at various levels in non-league why waste a season especially when his contract is up in 2026 with a 1 season option for player and club, in fact we should be looking at extending his contract now I have no doubt Wyll will become a decent keeper and have a good career, Wyll is 24 in May and looking at Carlisle keeper Gabriel Breeze 22 in December many have him penciled in for at least a million pound plus transfer he is though of very highly, he signed a 3 year contract February 24, we will lose players who are out of Contract in the summer I just hope we don't lose Wyll for the same reason.

I might be wrong ,Stanway has improved but did that improvement come when Canavan came back in the side after injury?
