Great result on the road. Just down to hard graft, goo goalkeeping, and could have won if the ref gave the stonewall penalty. Right in front of him too. Sky pundits couldn’t defend his decision either. Shocker.
We aren’t good to watch attacking wise, but we’ve got to admire that we haven’t lost in 4 now. Give Gordon some help up front and it will make a difference.

So Walker will be the lone striker next week then! (Gordon not allowed to play against Walsall). Why does Cameron not get 20 mins or so his height might help Josh.

Not many appeals from by me for the pen. Mate who was watching it said it was a stonewall. Harper is class, him and Williams have to be the starting midfield pairing from now. Newby getting a lot of stick but had beating of the full back time after time. Fletcher looked like he was towing a caravan, absolutely goosed from kick off. Their centre halves won’t have an easier game all season, brain dead tactics yet again booting it head height into Gordon up against monthe. Best I’ve seen raglan play in a barra shirt looked solid.

Ultimately it’s another point and a clean sheet away from home. Wasn’t a spectacle but the turn around post Blackpool is all that counts

I think we were lucky to get a point out of that! I didn't see anything that merited a penalty, maybe I missed something.

Get Barkhuizen and Rhys fit and our attacking options improve massively. Gordon will work hard but is totally isolated. I can see why we set up like yesterday esp against a team that don't concede lots of goals but a point away from home is good. A massive away game next snd I'd take another point. We need a few of these players back and fighting for places, look at Harper yesterday he was brilliant but been injured. We need a good spell of these lads being available then start the "judging of AW" and theres been lots of changes in summer.

Stanway proving to be one of our better players.
He is better than Farman alot more agile.
He is the extra defender and commits to get the ball out of the area

When we have a go and actually get it forward we play some nice stuff but we are just too slow - we keep setting up terrified of these teams.

The profile of the game was like many: we start on the front foot for the first 10 minutes and scare the bejeebers out of the opposition but then settle back into deep defending, an isolated striker and an occasional foray into the enemy's penalty area. Sometimes the latter pays off and we nick a goal but it must be a soul-destroying task for Gordon against the likes of Monthe. We need someone who can just receive the ball and hold it for a few seconds. That's not Gordon. Hemmings, maybe? How far off is he?

But, unless wrapping both arms around a player and shoving him to the ground in the box is now in the rules then, yep, that was a penalty.

Not currently a great watch and at home attendances are dwindling. From my view in the HSE this season has featured a listless crowd on their phones, chatting amongst themselves and with 'the choir' noticeably absent on any given Saturday as we pass the ball sideways before a hopeful ball for Gordon to chase. We need something to get excited about and get a buzz going by having a go at teams from the outset. I'm sure starting at home with Cameron and Gordon upfront would be worth a watch with Cameron told to run at the opposition relentlessly with a view to getting free kicks and not allowing the opposition time to settle.

We're doing okay but the 'testimonial' football we see at home is quite boring and it is not pulling in the punters or particularly effective in my opinion.

Not a great game by goals standards but played well enough to gain a point on the road. I like Oldhams ground a decent old school look and put together over time and style of the different stands. Some of our away fans were embaressing yesterday. Shouting "Stand up you C word" over and over again..... To the players families and older fans and people with young kids. Some of the younger 'fans' need to realise some people dont go to football starting on the beers at 8am and like acting like they're on Green Street on a Saturday evening.
