Substitutions won that game for us.

Game of two halves or certainly the last half hour from Barrow! The goal came at a good time and then the triple subs made a real difference. We started playing with a bit more quality and actually passing the ball into feet and space rather than high balls. That was needed credit where it’s due and after the goal aldershot didnt really threaten.

Only downside was we should’ve had more than one with the chances towards the end and hit the post and bar. That would’ve made it a lot more comfortable but I’d have taken a 1-0 after Tuesday night. That was depressing.

Interesting to hear comments from Carlisle fans on Radio C, saying it is time to get rid of Elliott. Also interesting to hear James Phillips (I think) tearing a strip off a fan who had called in and who referred to some people as happy clappers.

How did the 2 new lads do? Heard Oakley was immense today.... back to back wins at home for what feels like a lifetime ago, definitely something to build on at last.

Feel for mikey lane there battled away and came off. The game would of been perfect for him towards the end

Allen full of running and pace but we weren’t really in the game or passing it well enough until he came off. Mooney, Edwards and Thomson all made a real difference and we started to keep the ball better and control the game more. Agree with the other comment on Lane he ran a lot but was given very little to work with. Wind didnt help first half but we were just so poor.

Oakley had a slow start but has looked a lot better last couple of matches. Makes some good last ditch tackles but position wise sometimes gets caught out but he’s improving probably saved two goals on the last two games.

Dreadful first half, a really tough watch, half the players couldn’t play football and half couldn’t stand up. Better second half, subs made a difference and it looked like we had some footballers on the pitch at the end. A better balance anyway and a big 3 points for us and Murray.
