Cheap maybe, easy definitely not. Look at the reaction he's getting on here and in other quarters. It would have been very easy for the board to pick someone expensive or with a bit more "pedigree" to keep the fans quiet and happy, but in the long term is that what's best for the club.
HAve to agree with Ste on this, especially with all the furore prior to his announcement, would have been the easy option to buckle. I don't care what he's done up teh coast or what their followers think of him, he's now the Barrow manager, and should be given a clean slate and a fair crack at it before we get on his back.. some folk will never be happy!

All the best Darren. He's now ours. Done nothing wrong yet, so get behind him and the team he has inherited and support the lads.

He's got a hell of a job to do. Get us to safety Edmo, then build on that. Gonna be a interesting time at Holker Street, then again, when isn't it! ;)
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

We're a club in deep, deep trouble and that's reflected in the standard of applicants for the previously 'vacant' post
Let's give the lad a great reception and whatever side he puts out our full support on Saturday
See you there, or in the case of the other 6.400 who managed to make it to Sunderland/Middlesboro, maybe not
Good luck Darren
Point "A" what a ridiculous statement! So Edmo is perfect is he? he must be according to you! And all the people who have an opinion that isn't the same as yours are clueless are they?

Point "B" I'll back Edmo 100% now he's our manager but that doesn't mean I didn't have reservations about him but that in your world means I have too much time on my hands!! Try telling my missus that.

And how do you know the standard of applicants? only four, possibly five were known out of twenty or more.
Without trying to sound disrespectful to the new boss the standard of applicants known didn't seem that outstanding to me. I was merely trying to stem the negativity surrounding his appointment and highlight our current predicament. No wonder the ground's empty with morons like you wasting your time away on here calling that 'ridiculous' and where did you get the 'perfect' from, uranus? But, I'm stooping to your level here so yeh, I guess you've just confirmed that you've too much time on your hands as well as your cluelessness.

This Clueless Moron you refer too here is one of the main players in the progressive GMA Group who are steadily transforming our old & crumbling Ground out of disrepair & bringing it kicking & screaming into the 21st century.

Have a word with your self.

I think you are venting your Ire at the wrong person, Spirit works hard and tirelessly at this club for all our benefit.

Yes, spirit. Why don't you help the club and become a part of the GMA group instead of wasting your time on this forum? New members are always welcome. I might even greet you with a cup of tea.

We are all entitled to an opinion. I agree with what Spirit is saying.

Edmondson wouldn't have been my choice, but he's been chosen so I hope for the sake of the club and the supporters that he is successful.

Good luck.

Your showing yourself up.

You said "anyone who posts a negative comment about Edmo is (A) clueless & (B) has too much time on their hands. So basically ALL the people (and there were plenty) who had reservations or were against him fall into one, or both of your catergories, is that what you are saying? Yes you are, so it's not one ridiculous statement......it's two!

As I've said, he's the new manager & he'll get my full backing. I'll be there with all the others & clapping as loudly as anyone else on Saturday when he gets introduced to us & REALLY hoping he can do well for BAFC. Mind you, that's only the view's of a "moron"

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

EM reporting that Edmo wants Meeks as part of his coaching team but no place for Skelts because of his contract at Wukkie.

Skelton has laid his cards on the table right away saying he doesn't want the managers job as he is not ready. Fair play to him.

Pity - we could do with him in the team as well!

Everyones entitled to their opinion whether they're right or wrong. Too many people dismiss them rather than arguing them.

Shame about that, Skelton > Meechan! Edmo has already been sounding out new players which is good to see, I've already made plans for the next two Saturdays but after Christmas will be back at Holker Street to give him a go, hopefully others will do the same (although the rest of this season is a write off and survival is the only aim)

Personally don't think Gavin would have left even if you wanted him.
1. I don't think barrow could afford him.
2. He has a very good job up here doing coaching in schools etc.
