I think Evatt shows his naivety and arrogance, the way he criticised John Goodwin after a game and has a go at the fans.
I am not meaning that as a criticism but he is just starting off and I am sure he will adjust as time goes on
Spot on!
Totally disagree. I’m fairly convinced that to call someone naive and arrogant is a criticism, and in fact it’s an insult. In my opinion it is also totally unwarranted.

The issue is not really whether Barrow supporters are miserable b*st*rds and don't react with enthusiasm to a dour stodgy display. It's not even the prospect of some not turning up next time after watching such a display. Its the fact that 1000+ of them couldn't be a*sed to turn up to the game in the first place having had one the best displays served to them on a plate at the last home game. That would seriously p*ss me off as a manager. Damned if you do, damned if you dont.
I'd be very surprised if the attendances of most, if not all, clubs who played at home on December 29th and January 19th were not well down last Saturday. Attendances around Christmas and New Year have invariably been much higher than at other times of the year.

I have never heard of these guys who are representing kemy - but from someone who is experienced in this area I find the whole negotiation and turn of events completely baffling.

The standard fee that an agent charges a club for their work is usually a flat 5% of the players total base salary for the duration of the players contract. Some clubs are happy to pay the agents fees - providing they have done adequate work on the transfer - or if they are desperate for the player and want to ensure the deal gets over the line.

If the club out right refuse to pay an agency fee it is then up to the agent if they wish to charge this 5% fee direct to their client who pays it out of his wages over the course of his contract. The other alternative is what these guys seem to have done and call the whole deal off.

I have never heard of an agency not only charging a fee for their role in the transfer - but expenses etc. Any expense that an agent incurrs when representing a client is and should be at the agents own expense.

Not all agents are "cretins" - there are some out there who do a brilliant job for club and client, and the reason why agents exist is to ensure that the player maximises his earning potential and understands his market value. There are loads of players out there who sign contracts with clubs and short change themselves as they dont understand the market . Agents also play a big part in terms of scouting and recruitment for clubs who dont have the luxury of a big internal scouting teams.

Kemy could do a deal with barrow without his agents involvement - but could be opening himself up to a 5% charge from the agency.

Agents don't own players - players have their own brains.

If kemy really wanted to be here he would be doing the deal himself.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up. I heard Maidstone - but that's a step back. My prediction would be Solihull due to their location and position in the league - hopefully he gets his chance in the league somewhere.

I have full faith that IE has a few tricks up his sleeve in terms of finding any replacement. For a rookie manager he is doing a brilliant job - and we are in a far better position that I thought we would be at this point in the season.

Agents are parasites and are not needed in football. Many people in my former life as an IT person work from their own companies and have to negotiate their salaries with an employer. We're no different to low level footballers but manage to do it ourselves without the need for somebody else to think for us and cream off money from the employer of the employee.

No one could have been enthusiastic about Saturday, but some of those that do turn up just seem to want to have a moan. If the team have an off day the players get it relentlessly, or they did from too many near where I was sitting on Saturday. I felt as frustrated and irritated by that as much as with what was being delivered up on the pitch. If we go to matches shouldn’t we support the team come what may? Supporting them can mean shutting up when they are playing badly, rather than rubbishing every error. When it’s as bad as it was v Halifax it’s hard or impossible to be enthusiastic, I follow that, but as I see it as supporters shouldn’t we verbally refrain from rubbishing the team too much? It can’t do the players any good. I think that’s Evatt’s point, and it’s enough of a problem for him to mention it. As I’ve said before, compare and contrast what happens at away matches. Those getting uncomfortable about Evatt being mildly critical about this one occasion should take a look at themselves. Perhaps there’s a distinction to be drawn between those that watch Barrow, and those that support Barrow.

If Kemys agent had followed the correct protocol of printing out and waving said transfer request/contract negotiation around the away end all would have been forgiven.

Thank you for that, and I’m prepared to take it at face value, but I’m sure you’ll appreciate that you will always be on the back foot if you try to justify the role of an agent to any football fan. I’m genuinely interested to know if there is any contractural situation established between a club an an agent when a transfer is negotiated, or when a players contract (as in the case of Kemy) is established. As I see it, and please put me right if I’m wrong, the agent (or agency) is employed by the footballer, and I can’t see the necessity for any contractural arrangement to be established between agent and club. If that’s correct, what is the justification for Kemy’s agent demanding expenses from Barrow? If that is the case (and the latest is they are denying it), they must be well outside their legitimate remit must they?

No apology necessary because I’m not offended at all. Pedro suggesting that Evatt is naive and (in particular) arrogant is an insult to Evatt, not me.

When a player signs for a club the contract is between player and club. If the agent is receiving a fee then there is a separate form which is completed which the club and agent sign outlining what the payment is. The form is then submitted to the FA - as to any money the agent is receiving. The Fa then pay the money to the agent. This way it's all monitored who recieved what etc.
In some cases a club will hire an agent to scout and negotiate a transfer on behalf of the club - this is the only case where the club and agent will have an actual contract between themselves. But yet again club and agent forms and any payment goes to the FA.
The fact that kemys agents have asked for hotels etc is completely beyond me. It's all very strange! - as too is the social media etc. Managers talk and I doubt these guys will be operating very long if this is how they conduct business.

Agents trying to put the blame on the club now

"Agustien's agency, Premier Global Sports Management, have disputed Evatt's, and the Bluebirds', views on events and are considering taking legal action.

They tweeted on Saturday morning: "No @KemyAgustien in players (sic) line ups today, all who not heard negotiatons collapsed regarding the contract with @BarrowAFC on CLUB side and not our side as Barrow has said.

"When Kemy's joined his new club next week as we are negotiating now, the TRUTH will be told.""

Who are these fools ? I back club on this
Can't wait for the next instalment

Better than Saturdays game.
The most amazing thing in all of this is the name of the company representing Kemy. Someone should consider taking legal action against them for use of the words "Premier" and "Global" in their title at the very least, given their client list

A few good posts there giving us an insight into how these things work.

As you’ve said earlier, agents do, in the right circumstances, have a role to play - it’s when it gets out of hand like this seems to have done that it starts to annoy the ordinary, everyday football supporter. It’s beyond me how these lot seem to get away with all of this...
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

As someone who lives out of the area and who keeps up with things via t'internet etc it strikes me that there are a few things to take out of this whole situation. 1. There is clearly more open-ness from the club. Previously nothing would have been said about all this and the conspiracy theorists would have had a field day, this is a positive. 2. The club have stood up to what appears to be a greedy agent and taken a stand - positive. 3. IE has reacted to some stuff on twitter, positive as it shows he cares but negative as ultimately he is the manager and should rise above it. 4. IE has very mildly criticised certain aspects of the home support - in my eyes positive as again it shows he cares, he has preceded his comments by praising the support and also lets face it, there are some right doom mongers that turn up every week for a good old moan :-)
Then we come to the agents - premier global - well what can you say really..... without fulling understanding the semantics of things (few of us ever will) they appear to be the very model of un-professionalism. Players come and go from clubs all the time and agents often get the blame - rightly or wrongly - but how often do you see those agents then entering into a very public slanging match over social media with supporters - almost never. As someone has posted previously, the list of clubs they mainly deal with are very much 'non-league' most of whom are below our level. To me that speaks volumes and i think they are somewhat out of their depth. How the hell they ended up getting Kemy on their books baffles me. I would be pretty astounded if he gets his move to anyone much higher than a low league 2 side as i would doubt they have the contacts at any club much higher. Tweeting details about contract negotiations, clearly discussing details of the negotiations with some 2 bit client who is currently suspended from football for failing a drugs test - i take it they didnt have to go through the whole GDPR kerfuffle at premier global!!
I should also add that it was equally as reassuring to hear about the lad McFarlane being sent back to his parent club - again a good professional attitude taken by the club.
Whilst not having Kemy is obviously a negative, the fact we are not prepared to work with these kinds of people must be seen as a huge positive and clearly sends the right kind of message to supporters and indeed the rest of the football community that, at least for once, BAFC are going about things the right way.
Kudos to IE and the board from me.
