We can also help by buying one of the programmes which will have been printed. Can't have them going to waste. Unless the club decide to hang onto them and print a sheet to go inside for when/or if the game is played when the pandemic ( officially designated by the WHO before anyone starts :D) is over.

The early purchase of season tickets could be crucial too.

Programmes can indeed be used for the rearranged game when - and if - it takes place, but not the catering supplies which will largely be wasted.

If I send the money, could someone put a couple of pies in the post for me? ;)

I could do that for you. Just send £40 and it will be done.

I wouldn’t buy more tickets for matches where you already have them. Tickets sales attract VAT so 16.67% of the ticket sales will be paid to HMRC - instead I would keep your original ticket and use it when the game gets played. Instead make a donation to the Bluebirds Trust which won’t have any VAT implications and 100% of the funds will be available to use by the Trust/Club

I think the club have asked for money to be donated through the Play Your Part site.

Could the club say that existing tickets will be no longer valid for any rearranged game (unlikely to happen) and that any unclaimed refunds will be treated as a donation, thus avoiding VAT?

Possible but difficult I think- every Match there will already be tickets sold but not used but as there was a ‘value’ to them in the fact the person could have attended then I doubt it could be claimed it was a donation and thus VAT free - especially as to be a donation the donor has to freely give the money without expectation of any value in return.

It would be better to just give money direct to the trust as a proper donation and if they are set up to do so it may be possible to claim gift aid on it (although I am not 100% certain on that due to the use to which the money is intended - or to buy an equity stake in a trading company )

I don't think that could be done as technically the club has entered into a contract that you will pay to go and see a particular game.
If that game is called off they have broken the contract and have to refund your money.

However I'm sure they will offer refunds but as far as I'm concerned if the remaining matches are not played the club can keep the money I've already paid.

Club could maybe start taking season ticket pre payments, to help keep funds coming in, regardless of which league we will be in, and regardless of working out next seasons match day prices.

Difficult not knowing what or where we will be playing so I guess its imperative that clubs know sooner so we can perhaps get the ball rolling!!
