Pedro gets a fair bit of stick on here (mostly justified ) but his main point regarding a striker is a valid one, we are now less than a week away from the first game and it’s very worrying as we seem to be in the same position again. Of course we could have somebody lined up - but we were all hoping the same last season and it never happened.
It was a worry two weeks ago when we only had Bennet, Gordon and Waters and everyone recognised we needed another striker, but now we’re six days away from playing Stockport with one lad who had a good season last year in the NL and one who struggled last season in L2.
I’m sure they’re working on it and hopefully we can get someone in, I’ve more faith in PW doing that than I did of Cooper ever solving that problem.

Not sure where we are looking (and it’s a gamble of course yes) but you may get a better quality of loan forward waiting till later in the window when Prem and Championship clubs have a definite idea of their squad for the season

The trouble you now have is club's know we are desperate, as Ian says everyone knew what our priorities were !

I think you will find a number of clubs are looking for a forward/striker so it will be competitive. The trick is to find one that complements Bennett when he returns so we have flexibility up front. No good going for a like for like striker in Bennett image. As someone said may have to bite the bullet and pick up a loanee from somewhere in the Championship or premiership.

Let’s hope when PW says (in yesterday’s interview on RC) that it has to be the “right one”, not just anyone, he has a few in mind. Or even just one. Could be being forced into playing a waiting game for now.. Will have to trust his judgment. We all remember how effective Wakeling and Harris weren’t last season. I’m certain PW is much more wise. In fact I’m hugely impressed with him so far. The first 10-12 league games will be fascinating, for starters.

When you have a problem, all you can do is solve it. Sometimes it is just a matter of throwing enough cash at it. If Quigley returns (as is rumoured) he should be used tactically with Bennett as understudy.

Well I’m pretty sure Quigley will be off somewhere. Stockport are offloading players as if they don’t they willl breach the EFL FFP rules. Such rules don’t and have never existed in the National league

Bennett is a very different player to Quigley...

It's only a rumour as he's an ex player I'm sure a lot of clubs would be interested in him.

Wild isn't interested in Quigley
