We’ve got to remember we are Barrow hence this result was entirely predictable. This was an opportunity to cement our place as auto promotion contenders and we blew it. We now need a super human effort to keep in the play off positions. I agree with others very bizarre starting line up especially being at home. Another bad day at the office maybe paying the price for not strengthening in the transfer window but hey ho we go again Sat.

When I saw Gotts and White starting I knew we were in for a tough time. Nothing against either player but when they start together we often do not perform to our best.

What was up.with our team tonight,not chasing balls down,leaving too many gaps,standing off players,in fact the whole teams performance was very lethargic.To cap it all we had Pete Wild saying the pitch may have affected our teams performance.Guess what,the opposition seems to be able to master it.We have found that out twice recently to our cost.These players are supposed to be professionals,so I,m hoping to see a massive improvement against Salford.Not good enough.

Tough watch last night. Certainly didn't look like a team who was challenging for promotion. Very nervy, very predictable, just didn't look like they were enjoying playing at all. Lumping balls forward 'cos they didn't trust playing through the midfield, mistakes at the back, Farman stops it being even worse. For me, PW has to give Stockton & Telford a few games together, Whitfield behind, Newby, Campbell, Spence, Stephenson across midfield and the back 3 as per.
Pete's got to get some confidence back into the group, this chance won't come round to often.

my thoughts exactly. started with a similar line up earlier in the season and it didnt
work. so i knew we were going to be in trouble until we brought on the subs.
Chester last night, "nightmare". i feel he is very calm on the ball, so he holds onto it too long.
Then passes to someone under more pressure, which they cannot cope with. After last nights display,
he needs benching! he's being selected on his past. not his performances.
And why no defenders on the bench? canavan too a knock and was hobbling for a little time.
who was going to replace him if needed?

The predictability of what we do must be encouraging to every team. We spend far too long passing in a horseshoe just in the middle third, from wing to centre to wing and back again, without any incisive passing or drives forward. It must bolster the opposition, giving them rest time and allowing them to set up solid defence. We need to be braver.

We are quite predictable and Steve Cotterill is a experienced Manager will have watched videos of our games.
Did not think this result was unexpected they were faster..

I like Newby but when he goes on the wing and puts a ball into the box we are missing a player like Cook or Quigley to get the ball.

Yes the pitch is not good at the moment but as the old saying goes it's the same for both sides.

Difference was they coped with it better, but for Wild to mention it is clutching at straws and making excuses.

Now the dust has settled. As I posted earlier,this was never gonna be easy,and it certainly wasn’t, credit to FGR they certainly didn’t look a bottom team,their energy,pace and defensive set up was very good, their wage bill is twice ours,so the players they have are good. Us, I’ve seen this coming since pre Christmas, we are too predictable in our build up, we chop and change the midfield too much and disappointingly forwards will never flourish in this system.What has got us to such a fantastic position is our defence, that is now being breached far too easily. When visiting managers have blamed the pitch all season,after a defeat,we’ve laughed,our own is now doing it, I worry. The pitch is an absolute shambles though let’s be fair.If we can stay up around the play offs I’ll be happy, unfortunately I don’t think we will. Roll on Salford,

It’s all about desire and the will to win which FG had in droves. Once again the weight of expectancy proved too great for our lads. We got ourselves in a fantastic position and as others have said it’s ours too throw away. We have to find some much needed bottle and be ruthless enough to reach our goal. Thinking about last night I believe that’s why Wildy picked a more defensive line up because of the way FG would come at us. Let’s just hope we can get back on track and finish strongly. I also thought our attendance was poor considering our league position and the need for our fans to get the lads over the line.

After Salford on Saturday I think Adam said we have 8 out of 10 games at home (correction: 7 of 10). You'd like to think that would be a massive advantage but I'm really not sure how that pitch will stand up to such an onslaught, particularly if we have a cool, wet couple of months. Gareth and team will do their best, I know, but for a player it must be absolutely draining (if you'll excuse the pun).

We are at home, we cannot start home matches constantly worrying about the other sides , against Morecambe we played with an intensity, attendance can you blame people not going, this sitting back is not a good watch, yes we grind out results but entertaining certainly not !

Agree it’s not entertaining but play crap and win 1-0 everyone’s happy. My point was we could all see this coming over the last few games hence the need for more vocal not armchair support. This league is brutal and won or lost on fine margins, It would be a bonus if it was entertaining.

It’s a good point you make regarding the Morecambe game a great team performance and on the front foot. There was lots of talk from AJ and JW about the need to be at FG from the off which didn’t IMO reflect in the starting selection.

I can’t see Wildy changing his results based style anytime soon unless of course we repeat our poor form from the end of last season, I have every confidence PW will turn us around but he’ll do it his way.
