If players were throwing up at half time due to the bug going around the team, I think they did a bloody good job hanging on to a lead in the second half with an opposition determined to get something out of the game.

Yes. A great win in the historic Barrow AFC tradition. A bit like the Colchester game. Bugger the performance. Just cuddle those three points.

BTW there’s a bit of speculation that Steve Evans might be about to replace Michael Appleton at Shrewsbury before next weeks game. If so I still have a decent supply of brown paper bags if needed.

Great win especially under the circumstances.
Maybe got a bit lucky with a couple of scrambles towards the end but you earn your luck when you work hard and put your head in where it hurts. That was the sort of grit we were missing previously up until last week. Fletcher looks a better player than I remember from last season and popping up with some important goals as well as an assist and Josh Gordon whilst not prolific will always run around and be a nuisance.

Shrewsbury have had a poor start and hopefully haven’t got rid of Appleton by next Saturday. No reason now to not go 3 from 3.

Credit to stanway too.. thought he had one of his best games and threw some shithousery into the mix late on!

Great performance under extreme circumstances shows we do in fact have a group that gives a shit.

Really? Farman would never have confronted those 2 players like Stanway did not in a million years!

Unlike his sister, Stanway is quite a big unit. He can take care of himself and is well able to use his physicality to intimidate or badger opponents. As any forward trying to take his space at a set piece will find out.

We haven’t dwelt too much on Stanway because of other issues. But despite the difficulties we’ve had and competition for his position, I think he’s quietly continued to develop. Young keepers can be so inconsistent. Yet Stanway remains quite understated. A very good sign.

Just seen the alternative angle Fletcher goal. Earing will get the credit for the assist but what a great bit of work down the right hand side from Josh Gordon to get past his man.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Framan was a good keeper but based on our first 10 games this season, I think Stanway looks better - athletic, good shot stopper but also very commanding in the box.

Think Stanway is fearless and unlike Farmer is decisive coming out.
Yes he will make mistakes i thinks he has bolstered our defence.

If that's silly I'll have that all day long ,it was about desire, passion and wanting the win !, fantastic to see.

Agree totally! Distribution is the only flaw in his armoury at present something PF never quite mastered during a long and excellent career that hopefully isn’t quite finished yet. If Wyll hones that skill and continues to improve, well what a career he has before him.
