I must admit all kinds of images flashed through my mind and an inward groan when he mentioned the American game experience. I don't want to go to a football match and watch all kinds of entertainment. Just 22 players playing a game of football is my game experience.
No razzamatazz thank you.

I am no expert but I would think he means a better experience for people in the ground. Make it a more family friendly experience without kids and wives saying it is boring. Basically anything to get more people in the ground.

Hopefully he's talking about the whole experience in terms of a decent stadium with good clean amenities including toilets full merchandising web visibility via twitter facebook etc perhaps some decent eating and drinking facilities that can be used both on matchday and in the week. There is so much that a good commercial approach can do to improve and extend whats on offer on matchday.

The whole public face of Barrow AFC needs to be projected to the town including providing something for the younger end of the market.

Its not gonna be easy keeping everyone happy but surely we need to drag ourselves into the current century and not hanker for the old days.

Lets harness the spirit and abilities of the youth and create something for the future even if its unrecognisable to some of us oldies.

Vive la revolution. :D

That's pretty much it Dave P, a better experience (surroundings) for fans to come along and enjoy the game.

On your point about the 75% of the total membership needing to vote for the proposal and postal voting being allowed I seem to recall this was mentioned by both PC and S.Leonard when I spoke to them last night so I think its pretty sure that this will be the case but no doubt SL will correct me if I'm wrong!!!

I think that the legal position of both the Company Law for members clubs and the Clubs Constitution/Membership Rules needed to be clarified and in order, as well as what's needed for the AGM and subsequently future EGM vote. There are rules in one which take precedence over rules in the other, not to mention certain wording being more significant than other wording, also just because postal voting isn't mentioned in the Constitution it doesn't mean it can't happen. I hink trying to sort all this out was one of the reasons the AGM was delayed as mentioned by Peter in the other topic.

One thing is abundantly clear we are going nowhere in our present state, well we are and that's backwards. Do feel like someone has already stated getting semi pro players to relocate to the area is not going to happen unless financially its worth it for them. PC must be given a chance for this to succeed imo, could be our only chance to kick on, just what we have all been dreaming of for decades.

I like it, PC for me as well.

Let's hope that the membership which was created to help save the club, doesn't become a millstone around our necks! :scarf: :scarf:

There was an element of uncertainty regarding the board; at first he strongly suggested it would be a whole new board but later seemed to semi-retract this idea when quizzed about jettisoning current members who might have a wealth of knowledge and experience; at that point he stated that interviews would be held so as to offer the opportunity for current members to prove themselves.

!
The way I understood that bit was that wasn't saying he would put current board members on his board, but if they have a skill that would bring value to the club they could be employed.

I think if the man behind the membership scheme - Brian Keen - recommends acceptance, it will go a long way.

With regard to the present BOD and Paul Casson's comments last night:

The way I heard it, he would 'Interview' any suitable candidates for the board. However, we all know (and I think they do too) that NONE of the present board will be around...'IF'...his take-over succeeds.

The way I see it - and I think many others do too - is that it's all 'Cut & Dried':

Say YES:
Vote for the guy and his proposals and allow him to take our club into the FUTURE... :D :scarf: :flag:

OR...and I dread to think that this could well occur!... :(

Say NO: :sofa:
And allow Barrow AFC to DIE a very slow painful death...

It really is that simple!

Agree 100%, I see this is our only chance to survive & grow. Just hope the members who don't go on here/read the press/ know what's going on ( & there will be some out there ) will still hopefully vote YES..

It will certainly be interesting to hear what the board say about PC's proposals at Friday nights meeting and if any more details are available? One thing that hasn't been mentioned so far is what are the discussions relating to that PC is still having with the board?
Initially PC mentioned some figures about what he was gonna put in but last night no actual figures were mentioned and these are some of the details I'd be interested in? The joint statement that was issued did say a more detailed proposal would be provided.
On the point about the present board, 5 out of the 6 directors have directors loans whilst Peter G is the only one who doesn't but I'd like to see him carry on as a fans rep in light of the job he's done on here so far.
