Well I predicted a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 3 points for the Southport and Lincoln games together but that was based on a defeat at Lincoln and following the last 2 home results and finally Southport getting a decent result on Saturday anything from 0 to 3 against Southport. So that's the 3 points already but I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get anything at Lincoln and a draw there would be a great result. I don't think we'll be playing against a team with as bad a defence as Southport for the rest of the season and I'd say Southport and Guisley are already booked for relegation and probably also North Ferriby.GTBLUE wrote:Should be 2nd if we had'nt made two humongous mistakes. Great result. Pity the last two weeks have prevented the league table looking all the more sweeter. Tough test on saturday. Would take a point now.

Any away win is a good win even against a poor team. However, beating Lincoln will be an awful lot more difficult than beating Southport and we will have to play better than we done in any game this season to win there.blue nige wrote:Let`s give barrow credit here southport held tranmere the other week and any away win in this league is always welcome!, lets get something at lincoln now , i`m confident the way we set up we will get something there.

Dont be negative, many teams concede/score late goals, their supporters just forget about them and move on,some on her including you, will bang on about it till the season end.GTBLUE wrote:Should be 2nd if we had'nt made two humongous mistakes. Lincoln will be a real test.

Re: Southport v Barrow
Important not to get too carried away given how poor Southport were, but we were comfortable all night. Been waiting since the start of the season for us to start to play well and we finally delivered tonight.
Diarra had his best game for us, Dixons kicking was much much better and he didn't seem to have lost confidence which is good. Harrison was superb, his movement and skill are very good for this level and he can hold the ball up or run direct with it, he just seems to be getting better and better.
Pleasant night overall, pleasing trip especially given it was only half an hour down the road from me at my new university

Yeh agree with that Moussa and Harrison stood out for me. Good result. Very happy.

Well looked after in Peaky Blinders before the game, good beer and a nice buffet laid on by Jamie Reid again. Shame we couldn't of got there half an hour or so earlier, but such is life!
Can only beat what's in front of you and we did that comfortably. Byron Harrison had a cracking game goals aside I think he was man of the match.
Great following for a Tuesday night, haven't seen us for a few weeks so first views of our loan players Yates and Smith who had steady games. NWA and Bennett also played well.

Re: Southport v Barrow
Great performances from everyone as we were first to almost every ball, played some decent stuff on the deck and put a woeful Southport to the sword. Seven or eight would not have flattered us and the foot came off the gas in the last 20. The 4th goal was an absolute gem of a team goal.
Harrison the obvious headline maker but most impressive player for me was Yates who I also thought made an excellent debut at Ferriby. Best I have seen us play for a long while but it will be interesting to see how we do on Saturday against stiffer opposition.
So glad I managed to make the trip

Can only endorse all that has gone before. Southport do not have the best defence we shall meet this season, but Barrow read them well and produced the goods with some good football, much of it "on the deck", which produced the result and was good to watch.
Glad I was there. Sadly I cannot do Lincoln, but more of the same please lads and thanks to all concerned for a great show last night.

Bad night for Southport as the 7 sides immediately above them all picked up points. Only Guiseley below them, they are still looking for their first win.

Re: Southport v Barrow
On the 'port forum the word 'impressive' comes up a lot in connection with our performance. Diarra gets special mention from one poster.
It all comes 'round again.
Re: Southport v Barrow
That is a wonderful result against any side away from home.
Very early days of course but if we can keep sniffing in and around the play-off positions for another couple of months then anything is possible.
The sun shines brightly this morning. Get in lads.
