I don't really think you can call it a "witch hunt" regarding Dixon, just fans voicing their opinion which they are entitled to do.

You've blamed him for many goals we've conceded when it hasn't always been just his fault, making him sound worse than he is when this hasn't always been the case. I agree he was at fault last night but it hasn't been solely his fault for some that have been conceded but you don't want to take that into account and seem determined to blame everything on him.
A lot of players have bad games (quite a few did last night) but you haven't had a go at them.

I agree. I'm a big fan of Nick Anderrton but thought he had a shocker last night. Everyone is entitled to a bad game. Get off Dixons back....We've had some really poor keepers over the years. Dixon isent one of the them.

Have ben a Dixon fan since the moment I knew he was coming here - mainly because of comments from his previous clubs about his potential. I also like the idea of taking a rookie and improving him rather than a gnarled old has been.

Am still in the Dixon camp but I must admit even I am troubled by his tendency to make mistakes at bad times. Not so much that a keeper will make mistakes but its the type of mistake he's making that worries me.

He has been accused of "flapping" at high balls. However, to me the problem is his decision making process when dealing with these situations. He often moves instinctively and pre-emptively and his actions are clearly not always anticipated by the back four. Hence when it happens (usually at least once a game) he can get himself stranded and looks exposed and not a little foolish. It makes him look weak and lacking in confidence - this gives the wrong signals to the opposition. It also looks bad to supporters.

This is a habit which can be and should be trained out of him as its not a fundamental flaw in his technique. So the question is really what help is he getting with this issue from PC and his team?

Some teams have a specialist goalkeeping coach.

May be worth the owner and manager discussing this and bringing one in.

Dixon is garbage.

What was the attendance? Seems people were quick to write of Big Moussa.

I don't think he will get the 10 goals before Christmas like he told me.

Or a better keeper ? If you're going to spend another wage may as well get a better keeper in.

People go on about Dixon being in development and potentially a good keeper in the making, but he's 23 now isn't he? Not old for a keeper I know but still old enough to be expecting this supposed potential to be coming to fruition. I'm yet to see any real signs of it yet, apart from his poor decision making I don't particularly rate him as the outstanding shot stopper that some people seem to either. There's better out there, we've had much better in the recent past and its an area we should be looking to strengthen as a priority.

Totally agree it's the most important position and whilst I agree defence has made mistakes,how can you have confidence in the fella who flaps so much.
Listening to P Cox you could tell he realises that the time has come something has to be done.If Coughlan was not up to it that's two bad decisions.Persevering with a poor Goalkeeper who has cost us points and bringing another who he does not rate.

Never mind Dixon, what about Anderton last night? There must've been a 15 spell last night where literally everything he did led to the opposition regaining possession.

I couldn't go last night, but was at the Bromley and Boreham Wood games.
6 points lost in all with late goals from the opposition. Ifs and buts aren't good but we would be at the top of the league now...
I do like to be positive about the team, but I'm sad to say Dixon makes too many mistakes in this league at this level.
Everyone wants him to do well, but a reliable goalie is essential.
I think he comes for crosses, or he stays on his line or in the 6 yard area unless there's no doubt at all. If he sometimes does/sometimes doesn't it's unnerving for the defence.
Coaching can't improve his judgement, only his positioning. Not sure if coaching can improve his ability to catch a high ball. Coaching might be able to improve his distribution, which is poor.
Sadly I think it's a problem area. I feel sorry for him and just hope he can cope with his own mistakes and eradicates them.

After watching the highlights he should never of come for the cross stupid error more so when his centre halves were in control of the situation.must of had a rush of blood but I would imagine his confidence will be shot to pieces and he will be dreading the next high ball that comes in on him.
