I'm trying to get myself set up for this to watch it on TV. From what I've read on here the best option seems to be the NowTV daily pass so I plan to buy that and cast it to my smart tv via chromecast. I'd rather do that than watch it on a laptop. Has anyone done that? Any problems? How's the picture quality because from what I have read it seems to broadcast at 720dp which isn't exactly HD? Some reviews of the NowTV app are less than complimentary.

If your tv is a smart TV you won't need to cast to it you just buy your pass on the now tv app and log on to it on your smart tv and it will stream live. The pass is for 24 hours so you'll be able to watch other games in that time.
But remember it's a streaming service so you have to watch it live. enjoy.

I think that would work mine is a Samsung so I haven't had that problem, if you have access to a fire stick or similar that would work as well.
I'm not that techy but sounds good to me. Maybe someone else could confirm.

I'd be very surprised if he started before Josh Kay but let's hope he'll be fit soon in case Josh gets injured or suspended.

Slight digression here but I was definitely at our last League Cup tie against Preston in 1971 and I think I remember a spectacular own goal by Ambrose Clarke at the Steelworks End...

I was there, Ken, but don't remember the goals - - - - 2-0 to Preston off the top of my head.

I don't remember the goals either, but according to my scrawl in the match programme it was indeed an own goal by Clarke in the 61st minute, followed by a goal by Preston's Bobby Ham in the 69th. Attendance 4319.

If he’s not playing for England, which I don’t think he is, then there’s no reason why he can’t play for Derby the previous day.

I have no idea what sort of team we’ll put out. Ordinarily, in this competition we field mostly fringe first team players. However, there is speculation on our forum that Cocu may effectively use it as a final pre-season game so it may be a stronger team than normal.

Myself and @Lancaster Branch were guests on a Derby podcast today and they are under the impression that Rooney will feature in the game as he has only missed one pre-season friendly that they have played so far they play Sheff Utd tomorrow or Wednesday so whatever team plays in that one id hazard will be what we face on Saturday
