Referee was very poor. Had little to no authority over the game and it risked boiling over at times.
Weather was a factor but we dealt with it the better of the two sides.
Exeter were very poor I thought. Niggly, time wasting from early on and constantly getting away with wrestling holds in the box.
On the plus side, it shows how much better the side is now when we're disappointed with a draw against the likes Exeter.
Good performance from everyone but Banks looks a different player this season. Gordon ran himself into the ground again.
On to Saturday :scarf:
We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you :scarf:

Can't fault the commitment but it was one of those nights. Banks for me has improved a lot from last year and was my MOM. Let's go to Harrogate on the front foot. They haven't had a competitive game since the start of the season because of Covid. Onwards and upwards.
We have a much stronger squad now and IMO we won't be languishing around the relegation area.

A lively game and a bit of a game of two halves. First half Exeter played good football I thought without creating a lot, in fact I don't remember Farman making a save all game. Barrow's biggest threat was the runs and crosses of Hutton and someone had to get on the end of one of them as they were put into the right areas but no one gambled, that's where a player like Quigley would've been nice. Gordon in particular though and Zanzala worked hard and were lively, wrestled at times by Exeter defenders and the referee did nothing to stamp it out. He was poor for both teams really, Brown getting away with a blatant pull on Amond and there were a few others. No surprise that it boiled over at the end as he'd lost control by then and Cooper's sending off was ridiculous as he did little apart from remark that the officials had seen nothing for 88 minutes, when Farman questioned why there was no free kick for Ellis being clattered. With a bit more luck some of the scrambles would've ended up in a goal towards the end but Exeter defended well.

Some good football in spells, good commitment and battling again and defensively very solid although Exeter offered very little. Jay was impressive for them in midfield but I thought White and Banks were excellent again together. Encouraging signs there and plenty to build on, hopefully Simon Weaver didn't take too much from it ahead of Saturday!

A lot of positives tonight including some brilliant crosses from Hutton. Shame we couldn't quite get that winner.

First half was drab but very entertaining 2nd half.

Everyone worked their socks off and I'm liking the White and Banks duo more and more.

A league win, loss and draw so far as well as a cup win. A decent result on Saturday will make it a positive start to the season.

Their manager must be worried with the lack of chances they created.

That was a good performance tonight apart from the failure to score. We were much better than Exeter for long periods . We play some impressive stuff, have some real quality and we are miles better than last year. Cooper is doing really well. Recruitment is proving to be very good. Grayson was excellent tonight . Exeter spoiled and were in the ref’s face. He and his liners were pretty much useless and the sending off was bizarre. Good crowd and an entertaining game. Lots to be pleased about. Well done Barrow, onwards and upwards .

Exeter must be pleased that the money spent putting their squad through a Manual Handling course has created such obvious results on the pitch.

A shame as they showed some promise as footballers last season.

Indeed & hope several hundred tuned in on ifollow if it’s accessible for midweek fixtures while in the UK
If they did then Exeter would have got the money
So Barrow get the money for all the away games I watch on iFollow (i.e. Harrogate on Saturday?)

Yes
IFollow has gone back to what it originally was, they only changed the rules for last season to replace the match ticket thus give home teams the chance to make some income

It is now back to original state which is whoever sells the pass gets the money

Went to the game tonight and overall we played well.Couldn,t believe the spoiling tactics that Exeter employed,ie :- grabbing hold of our players ,kicking them and just generally trying to slow the game down.I thought the ref and the linesmen were poor and the ref lost control of the game.It all made for a poor spectacle and spoilt the game for the supporters.I think our team tried to play but their efforts were hampered by an Exeter team who came here to stop the Bluebirds playing the tyoe of football we know hey can do.If it hadn,t been so windy I think we would have come away with a win.I don,t think we have anything to fear against Harrogate as we are improving every game thanks to Mark Cooper and all the backroom staff. :scarf: :scarf

FORZA BLUEBIRDS , happy enough with the point , think we can pick up our first away win on sat at Harrogate. Completely different vibe about the club this year, can't wait to get over and see my first game.

Very early days but nice to see us in the top half of the table. Everyone has summed up the game pretty well. Disappointing not to get the win we deserved but a decent point. Thought Josh Kay showed what he is capable of second half and worked well with Gordon. Ref shit, their away support good.

Had to go to the tunnel to record interviews and assistant didn’t come out till late so very little that could be done on the post match
I know you had problems getting an interview, but half an hour or more of chat with a chap called Charles Hawtrey or something was too much to bear.
Have you ever thought what a wonderful world it would be without enthusiastic people.

Match been covered already. Have to say a really decent crowd for a Tuesday night, higher than 3 others in our league tonight, so we’ll done to everyone for making the effort. Second half atmosphere was excellent, and almost got the team over the line.Let’s play towards the Holker end every second half.
