Re: Expansion
Sorry beachy01.
At the time I posted though I was advised it wasn't "the club". Which technically it isn't, (Not Barrow Bluebirds Ltd)., it is three individuals involved with the club.

And get the blue comics and the strippers back in. That's neither a satirical nor an ironic post...get them back in!Storf wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 3:57 pm+1 Reinstate the old Bluebird Club as the main bar & function room, demolish the Crossbar & make the ground 4 sided again, possibly for the away fans.MikeRenney wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 8:53 pm If possible buy the Bluebird Club put the changing rooms, bar and club shop in there add a tunnel to the pitch and then pull the crossbar down. Make the Steelworks end the away end, terrace only for now to take full advantage of the times there would be a big away following. If seating has to be provided for the away fans use the new west terrace stand. Corporate would be under the main grandstand.
This would maximise income with the least redevelopment and get us back to a four sided ground with the existing stand, all the Holker end and the Popular Side for home fans. The added advantage is getting rid of the screen for away fans which is awful.

Re: Expansion
Of course we do….Hence the improvements ongoing as we speak…We haven’t applied for the Major works costing several million as we need to find the other halfEABluebird wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 1:24 pm I often wonder why we don’t avail ourselves with the Football stadia improvement fund.
We could finally get rid of that horrible building at the steelworks end and extend the Wilkie Road stand so when watching our game highlights we won’t see the 6ft high weeds or the piles of mud from across the road.

Re: Expansion
So sad to see the HS gates are no more. Used to always leave through that entrance as a boy. Many years ago, there were proper heavy wooden gates on that entrance. I remember them vividly.. I also remember them being blown off by a student from BGS who had just discovered how to make nitro glycerine.

We will be re-furbing (as we’ve done with the reception car park gates) all the gates but we couldn’t order what is needed for these ones as we don’t know the exact size yet.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
