We’re delighted to announce that former Premier League defender James Chester has a contract extension at the SO Legal Stadium until the end of the season.

The former Manchester United center-back originally joined the Bluebirds on the final day of the summer transfer window, having trained with Pete Wild’s side for the vast majority of pre-season.

Since then, the 34-year-old has gone on to make 19 appearances for the Bluebirds which has seen him form a rock-solid partnership at the back with Niall Canavan and George Ray amongst other players.

The former Hull City star has now put pen to paper on a new deal with the Bluebirds which will see him remain with Wild's side until the 30th of June 2024.
