That Tranmere 4-3 defeat, sorry to correct you but I'm certain it was 3-1 at 89 minutes!,still can't get over that even now you're never certain till the full time whistle blows!

Cheers for that your dark humour always makes me laugh, as for Mental health that's been tough for 2 seasons now,I sometimes wish I didn't like football because watching this team continually shoot itself in the foot defies any kind of logic!

Even more scrutiny of our players in this latest β€˜state of the nation’ episode from the excellent GEB observer. I came to the conclusion a while back that the EFL2 game lacks the passion of the non-league scene probably because the players are more professional, socially mobile and rarely from the area they represent. They all seem to know each other and chat before, during and after games no matter what team they are playing for; and that’s just human nature. I was a contractor for many years in construction and you got to know people as workmates, then the job would finish, then you would meet up with them sometime on another job perhaps working for other companies. And like in football, you turn up, do your job to the best of your ability, try not to injure yourself or anyone else then drive back home afterwards. So it goes. It seems to me that the pride, the passion and the pain exists solely on the terraces and in the stands these days.

Fantastic read as always.
Rose for sheer shithousery ( never mind relentless graft)
was my motm.
I thought Barks did a good job on their 9 after switching sides ( Dino tweak so early in the game, great to see) and "Cowley crying, GET THAT RIGHT UP YA! " an expression I've rarely heard since moving south of Hadrians Wall.
Made me smile just like on Saturday.

Excellent at usual.

Two things.

I was on my way to Man Utd v Wolves in December and was talking to a Wolves fan on the tram. She had decided that as they were going down she'd go to as many away grounds this season as a sort of a farewell tour! I now feel the same way now so its off to Fleetwood for the first time as I begin my own L2 farewell tour. (Its my 60th league ground I've visited so lets see how many I get to by the end of April).

Secondly, my choice of music could be The End by the Doors. But I'm hoping I will be whistling the Great Escape instead.

Its the hope that kills.

Very good read, the train spotting reference and Joy Divison is top notch!
