I believe there has been discussions to sort an U21 side?? but will probably not be next year but the following one. The majority of the U18's are still only U17 so that would tie in with them leaving that age group.

There are plenty of young lads out there, not just this bunch, many of whom have been with the development prog since its start. Hopefully the club will spread its net a bit wider and draw in lads who are not currently involved. They need to make sure it's done early though, we all know what can happen if they get a taste of the 'other' things in life and end up not playing. The lads who are running teh 18'sa re doing a great job, not only with the football side of things, but the discipline and how to play with respect but still keep that competetive edge, and they must be given great credit as well.

It's what we know the club has needed for many years, we have let many talented lads slip away, hopefully with these plans in place we will get to see a few local lads make the step up and represent their home town club.

That and the maintenance are the only positive things to happen in the last while, don't suppose there's a gae for youth during the Christmas holidays?

Why is Harvey all of a sudden getting slated? Probably admit himself hes not playing as good or as much as he'd like but theres alot worse out there.

I think whats needed is a settled side, obviously let edmo get a few recruits in and ship a few out but by the end of january we should be looking to have a settled 11, something that hasnt happened this season.

According to one of the Keen's interviews the plan is to get the best young local players to Barrow, Edmo's response to that in a separate interview was, I don't know where they are at because I haven't seen any yet. I don't know what the managers plans are regarding training, but it will be a logistical nightmare getting himself and his players to the same venue on a Tuesday and Thursday night for training when most of the players and himself have work to go to. Loan players are not cheap. I read somewhere that the loan players DE brought to Wukky last season cost the club over £30,000 and probably why we did not extend the loan period of Carver because of having to pay part or all of his wages. Playing the under 18 team is not as daft an idea as it sounds and I would not be surprised if several were in the team before the end of the season. I was not in favour of DE's appointment because of where he lives and works and his record as a manager where he has never won anything his only claim to fame is a trophy quarter final and a play off semi-final when his team were all local based. The board seem keen on the youth aspect of the appointment, but that is not going to happen overnight and we will have to slide down the pyramid a couple of leagues to allow these players to develop and in four or five years be ready to start challenging for honours again with a team of local lads. In this day and age teams like Barrow and Workington don't stand a chance, players won't travel unless you offer them mega bucks and they would rather play in the second division of the Evostick than travel to Barrow for matches never mind training, you just have to look at the league table which shows the four teams at the bottom from sparcely populated rural areas where as the teams at the top are all accessible to the larger population.

Steeley he is taking the [SwearFilter], seriously.

Winking at folk giving him stick after the 6-0 was the last straw. I have much more respect for McMillan who told Kie to [SwearFilter] off then turned up the next week. Easily the biggest talent we have, wasting it. Absolutely symptomatic of why we need to change direction.

I would keep Eddie, the right back, McMillan, probably Sam Sheridan and Gareth Arnison if he gets a strike partner to bully and do the dirty work.

Edmondson said that when he was Workington manager about Workington, but lets not let facts get in the way eh?

Sounds like let another dismal display, have the players given up? Flounced?

[SwearFilter] knows, but it's not good and Edmo has a real fight on his hands.

I didn't even go, and thanks to a little thing that happened on Saturday I might not be back for a while myself, so uninspiring/down right repulsive right now on and off the field.

But didn’t I see you in the Crossbar bud? Tell me I didn’t imagine it! Also noticed in the Crossbar Saturday – those godawful prints of a vase are still there in pride of place. Can we not get a couple of your masterpieces up there?

Also, what players there were in there pre-match looked like they would much rather be someplace else. Maybe they’ll take the prints with them when they go.

Was in there pre-game, then went and watched the second half of Furness Rovers vs Poulton on the pitch next door.

There's a couple of framed canvases on the bar in the xbar, Kirky off here kindly payed for those to be permanent fixtures, and will hopefully be hung up above the bar soon. If anyone wants to buy anymore and donate them to the xbar I'm sure Pete and the rest of the BOD will happily hang em up.

Strewth. I know we’re all suffering, but you’ve got it bad. So nobody can be arsed putting something more appropriate up in our spiritual home even though they’re paid for? The horror, the horror. :o

Bar needs money spending on it. It is a mess carpet ripped and duct tape on it, plaster falling of the walls, blinds in bits, windows cloudy, old sofas, poor paint colours and pictures of vases.

Sounds like a major clear out is needed. No wonder the gates have dropped to 500 when the club are charging £14 to sit and watch rubbish. I can think of better things to spend my time and money on, and it looks like hundreds of other people feel the same way.

Don't suppose we've got an original by Vincent Van Gogh hanging there? Some of his pictures of vases are worth quite a few bob these days. ;)

No, they're the Matalan 2 for a pound type and they might inspire you to gouge your eyes out rather than lop off a lug hole.

Doing up the Crossbar to tempt in punters is surely a better use of the MA Group lads time and resources than a pressbox refit that a declining number of backwater regional hacks will be using?

Just an opinion.
