This is the problem with our customer service, we think our customers will go out of their own way to give money to the club, some have done in the past and will continue to, but the club continue to throw money down the drain. Yes most of it is Cassons, but the fans still put their own hard earned money into the club.
I agree with you 100% that they shouldn't have to.

But if the decision maker is unaware then making them aware can lead to change & that's something we all want & hopfully on its way when I take over in a few weeks
He's been made aware loads of times and he reads the forum - if I walk into a shop now and queue is too long I go elsewhere - it shouldn't be hard work to go spend your money at the club

The clubs been made aware of this type of thing many a time.

Nothing ever seems to be done about it and the fans have to go through a Krypton Factor style challenge to hand cash over to the club.

Its the mentality thats all wrong.

Just read that - it also mentions that we are seeking 'qualified' candidates - but doesn't list the qualification required. Any ideas, anyone?

Could be one of our biggest 'signings' of the season. Hope they got the right woman or man.

Indeed, massive appointment this.

The club is rapidly running out of chances to "get it right" with the commercial side of things, with lots of potential customers and partners already turned off and others become more and more alienated.

A whole new attitude needs to be employed. Someone who wants to make a career out of this and not someone who is doing it for pocket money.

The club needs to do more of this. Interacting with fans and not closing up.

The 18th March deadline was incorrect, hence why the first round of interviews were undertaken before the end of last week.

Sounds like things are as much a shambles as ever. So people have been applying but rejected outright or ignored because they actually decided to close the deadline earlier than they'd announced?

http://www.barrowafc.com/commercial-dev ... atus-date/

Barrow AFC have moved nearer to appointing the new Commercial Development Manager this week. Three candidates were invited back for a second round of interviews falling initial talks last week. All three showed passion for the job and indeed for the club itself as well as displaying a range of skills that are vital to the role. Club CEO Austin Straker said “Having three such excellent candidates have given us an ideal opportunity to choose a person who has the talent to improve the commercial side immediately and then to develop it in the coming months and years”.
An announcement is expected to be made soon and thanks should go out to all candidates who applied initially for the post.
