You think visiting a town (apparently)to cause trouble before a football game is acceptable behaviour?
You believe that provoking people (apparently) is acceptable behaviour?
You don't believe that provocation may, and sometimes, does lead to retaliation from the provoked?
You think a section of York's 'Fans' aren't partly to blame?
Okay.
Do you believe that those coaches would have been attacked if there had been no pre-match incidents?
York fans are not to blame at all you need to grow up if you think that - what happened was a total disgrace
Sounds like you are talking bull shit to me -

Re: Trouble after the game
I don't need to add any further condemnation of this moronic incident. But I am slightly uneasy about the fact that some posters, and indeed the club's official statement, are offering apologies for the incident. This implies acceptance of blame.
It is entirely right that we should be offering sympathy, solidarity and good wishes to the York supporters affected. But our club and its supporters have done nothing to apologise for.

Been in work 2 hours and had to explain to 3 people that the people responsible are not barrow fans.
Will damage the clubs reputation, one lady said she not allowing her young son to go again.

Re: Trouble after the game
I see what you're saying, xerxes, but unfortunately the incident was linked, albeit indirectly, with the club and, by implication, the supporters. Because of this I think it is right and proper that the club apologise to York and their supporters for the cowardly attack on the coaches; this, I think, does not imply any blame or responsibility on behalf of Barrow AFC.
Similarly, and as you say, our supporters are right to express disgust at what happened and offer our best wishes to our counterparts from York City who were caught up in this.

Same here Al, and I am not even in Barrow.boyliegladbach wrote:Been in work 2 hours and had to explain to 3 people that the people responsible are not barrow fans.
Re: Trouble after the game
York also had fans intent on causing trouble. I guess thats why they brought 4-6 of there police. And they were giving grief to passers by in town
Re: Trouble after the game
Not to me they weren't.
They were keen to talk about their woes over the last twelve months, their pessimism.for this season and how Barrow seem to be on the up.

I would just like to ask, was anybody on this forum aware of any trouble either in town or elsewhere involving York City supporters before the game?
We were sat having a pint and people were coming into The Tally Ho - about 2.30 - saying that there had been trouble in town. We were also informed that York and Barrow fans had being moved on from the same pub earlier that day. Whilst I was walking up to the Tally Ho, myself and others, saw 4/5 police vans patroling Ainslie Street.
boyliegladbach and bluebird john: you both state - earlier in this thread - that you believe that those York coaches would have been stoned - even if there had been no provocation. Can I ask you why? Bearing in mind that no other coaches containing visiting fans have been attacked this season...

Re: Trouble after the game
They were probably expecting a scrap with York but when the day has passed without anything happening they just had to do something to get a bit of attention. I don't know do I the fact is if you're putting any ounce of blame on anyone other than the weirdos that did it then you're crazy! The Tomahawk Kid wrote:boyliegladbach wrote: Was a few York in pub we were in and there was no problems

The Bay radio say the two men being interviews by police were 22 year old and 14 year old.

You dont know? I find it mystifying that those particular coaches were stoned and yet no other visiting coaches have been attacked...
I'm not blaming anyone - that's for the police and the courts - not me. And I'm certainly not condoning what occurred.
However, I still believe that the behaviour of a particular section of York fans acted as a catalyst for the shameful behaviour that occured last Saturday. Go ask Yorkshire Police why they accompany their fans to away games...

Re: Trouble after the game
Nobody is or should be condoning coaches being bricked. It's cowardly and dangerous- I've been asked about it today at work too a few times- and it's tricky enough getting folk in the ground.
I hope the two York fans, clearly ordinary folks not causing any trouble at all, are well. It says a lot for them to come on here the way they have, massive respect and apologies to them.
However, York did have an small element with them and I am a bit mystified as to how all this could have kicked off without any police being around, as we had dogs, officers from both forces etc.

Re: Trouble after the game
So now on this forum we have, it's York fans partly to blame and police partly to blame.
There's only one or two people to blame and that's the people who did it.
