Another 1 goal defeat! We had at least 4 good chances in the second half. Bad miss by Quigley, near miss by James but should have been on target, great chance to Reid but hit straight at the goalkeeper and great cross from the left which Quigley didn't reach.
Salford did next to nothing in the second half in terms of attacking and it was another match which should have been won and wasn't against yet another poor team who are in the top 6!
Once again nothing creative from midfield. One positive was that the defence played well although some awful passing by Matt Platt who, like Quigley and Kay, hasn't reached the same level as last season. I like John Goodwin but can't agree with him that Dixon was at fault for the goal which I don't think many goalkeepers in this league would have reached.
Another positive was an excellent performance by Wilson who well desrved his MOM award.

ccongratulations to bafc today on crowds entering ground i thought it was very good with the turnstile operators using scanners who were nice and quick. i thought i read somewhere that there were programmes on sale in the ground bafc missed out on those today. hopefully be there for next game , should have had at least one penalty today and poor finishing cost us any points

Last 3 games we've looked useless in front of goal! How many shots to how many on target ???? Quigley around 7 shots in 2 games - 2 on target !
Awful goal to concede again!
If only 800 ish fans were there today and its 2000 for our ground ? Im not sure how you'll social distance tbh

Quigley could easily if got two today , top corner was an excellent save by their keeper, but the other chance should of been out away

well... 1st half we started 4-4-2 and the football by both sides was poor. We created little, but still Reid missed an open goal and Quigley got booked when the spineless ref should have given us a penalty.
2nd half they score after 5 mins - not sure if he meant it or not - but Dixon didn't look like he had any chance with it.
Not long after we went back to 3 at the back and to be honest we created a lot of chances. Quigley should have equalised straight away but scuffed it wide. Reid should have scored but hit it too close to the keeper. In amongst all this twice Quigley was rugby tackled to the ground and the ref who was possibly even worse than Tuesday's one bottled it.
A very frustrating and cold match to watch - yet another could have/should have match.
The 4-4-2 experiment ultimately didn't work - although Platt and Wilson in defence played well.
We desperately need Hardcastle back in midfield and a bit of luck.... because we are getting none at present. We could also do with a decent referee - but they seam to be a rarity - even the National League ones were better than these idiots.

Went to the game and thought we played well enough to win. The opposition only had two chances to our six or more. Can’t blame the manager if the players can’t put the ball in the net from what were very good opportunities. We competed throughout and when Salford had the ball we adjusted well to counter when they came forward.
Their goal was a very good one in off the inside of the post although their score ought to have been academic as we should have been ahead by two clear goals.
One other thing please, please to Quigs stay on your feet you will get more goals than looking for pens.

we won't win games missing chances like we had, no composure whatsoever from our forwards ,we are now paying for not signing another goalscorer hopefully baker Richardson might make a difference if he ever plays .
Salford didn't look anything special thought we deserved a point at least, James tries hard just not good enough.

Midfield is so poor, this is in my opinion our biggest downfall. We lack zip and energy and someone to float around the pitch dictating and demanding it. No one gives n goes and gets the opposition defenders turned we rarely get in behind teams anymore. Instead it’s the safe option every time backwards or sideways.
Our set pieces are also very poor we had two free kicks in decent areas today within two minutes of each other and never once tested the keeper. Corners are generally poor also. Do we work on set pieces?

Who are these people that agree the ref got it right that Adam speaks of? Why would quigs dive 7 yards out one on one?
The same reason Josh Kay gets booked most weeks.

Im struggling with the tactics/ shape. Can anybody please explain to me why Luke James came out early in the second half playing in a deep right position, almost at right back and trying to deal with the threat down the left and ended up being the closest Barrow shirt to their player who scored from that left hand side. I am genuinely not sure what we were trying to do when we first came out second half. After the goal he moved up the pitch alongside Quigley.
Once again we never pressed anywhere near as much as teams do to us and in large spells we gave them all the time in the world to play it across the park in the middle of the pitch. At one point there was not one Barrow player within 2 yards of a player on the ball, just letting them pick passes out unchallenged and we were just moving sideways from left to right with no challenges. When we did put a foot in and forced them into hurrying their pass, we were winning it back, so why only some times and not all game!!???
So so frustrating and sorry I cannot see where a win is coming from.

Agreed, but nobody in this league has looked anything special and we "deserve" something in most games. However, these teams are still beating us. It's fine margins, but Salford had the one player on the pitch who kept his composure and showed a bit of quality to win the game. We fail to produce those moments time and again, possibly because our players just aren't capable of doing so. Because of that, we keep losing.
Some worrying signs for me today. The body language of some of the better players isn't great, Quigley is trying to do everything on his own, Kay looks incredibly frustrated and Platt got more frustrated as the game wore on.
I'm still reluctant to put myself in the Dunn out camp just yet, but right now I can't see many alternatives. Something has to change.

Kay and as soon as he came on Biggins took 2 frre kicks from close range while Taylor has done well previously but he was pushed away and our kicks were awful. Corners are awful and i agree with a previous post that our midfield look poor and lacking drive to attack
