January Transfer window
Re: January Transfer window
Do we still have scouts working for us ?
Re: January Transfer window
I think it was desperation, insofar as Dunn seemed to have spent a lot of time trying to sign a striker, but presumably they were all too expensive or preferred other clubs, so I guess he ended up signing the only one willing to sign at the right price. It was a gamble that unfortunately didn't pay off.JammyBluebird wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 4:47 pmDesperation from Dunn?LCBAFC40 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 4:24 pm
Why the hell did we sign him with a record like that?
Be nice if the new manager or club made a statement with how the injured lads were doing and when they expected them to be back playing.
Few EFL2 clubs making signings now so be interesting to see what happens for us![]()
Who knows, however, if he gets fit soon, he may still surprise us.

Apparently so. Below is a snippet from Chairman Paul Hornby notes from the Tranmere programme.
"It’s going to be a busy few weeks
as we bolster the squad for the second half of the season. Michael has his own targets in mind, but we’ve been quietly working behind the scenes with Paul Ogden lining up options, so we can hit the ground running. As I promised on the radio, the owners will give it everything they’ve got to get us out of this position."

Re: January Transfer window
Ogden seams to know his stuff - he was the one that found Jack Hindle, Astley Mulholland and Josh Granite who we signed just before Evatt came in - 2 of the 3 played a big part in the team in the following 2 seasons.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 7:20 pmApparently so. Bring Andy Cook home
Re: January Transfer window
He also apparently unearthed Freddie Ladapo who was scoring goals for fun at Margate. We were close to securing a deal when Crystal Palace stepped in and on a purely geographical level he chose them. After a prolific spell at Plymouth he joined Rotherham for a record fee and has carried on in a scoring vein.Didn't he also spot Williams and Bennet ?

I’ve heard from a man in Asda who works by the door, this is increasingly becoming a reality. He said we are interested and Cook is keen. Fantastic news for us. Andrew is a good player and is a hero here.

Think you were a failed stand up comic in a previous life lol
Re: January Transfer window
Has his own targets but we've been working behind the scenes? So I'll assume we are looking at at least 2 players (hopefully a few more) but they aren't all our Managers targets so were they DD ? Our scout ? - im always a bit wary when you have a manager esp a new one and players are brought in he didn't ask for! Obviously Jolley might like these targets and they could be great for us but it'll be interesting to see who they are (if and when they sign)Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 7:20 pmApparently so. Re: January Transfer window
Seems really quiet on here with potential targets (actual ones, not people making it up) few people got a lot of our targets correct during the summer.
Obviously with Hindle gone (wasn't a shock) and Reid (not played for weeks so not shocked) then possibly Biggins going back. Sea, Gribbin, Zouma not even getting on the bench recently and we have Jones, Barry and another (can't remember his name or spell it
- Clthe ?) out injured for how long ? So there is a lot of room depending on finances of a few new lads coming in with a few fringe players leaving on loan etc - obviously we hope no regulars aren't shipped out or sold but it can happen! With some really important fixtures coming up (as in a few teams around us) we really could do with a few good players arriving asap

Asking because I don't know but was Harry Mckirdy good enough at Carlisle? Port Vale looking to off load him and Theo Robinson.

Re: January Transfer window
Is Paul Ogden employed full time by the club? Or just doing a bit as and when needed? I had no idea he was still here
