Anything from Barrow?

That's not a bad crowd for where we are in the grand scheme of things. If we keep performing and getting results it will gradually rise and we may start getting a few 3000+ gates especially when there is a decent away following.
Re: Barrow v Exeter City match thread
Better team last night, should have had at least 3 goals but for poor finishing or a clearance from a defender. I think we could do with a natural number 9 being brought in but we'll see plus we do have what 4 lads coming back from injury to boost the numbers. We look fitter, sharper and we are actually getting crosses into the box. Officials spoilt the match for me but we'll get days thr opposition will complain and we'll get the rub of the green. Hopefully take last nights performance into Saturday !

More often than not we'd have the breeze too.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 8:10 amFinally something we can agree on! We should be doing this for sure now there’s no fans at the crossbar end
Popular side since '03.

Good game and pleasing to see Cooper driving improvements on and off the pitch, you can see the guys a winner, which will keep everyone on their toes. Ellis, Banks and Gordon stood out with everyone who took to the pitch putting in a shift, if we can find that goal poacher we'll surprise a few.

We missed Dimitri Sea's presence in front of goal. Any news about his concussion/hamstring and when he might return?
Re: Barrow v Exeter City match thread
Seen quite a few new faces there last night or people that haven't been for a long time anyway which made it really pleasing to see the gate around the two and a half thousand mark.
The way things are looking with Mr Cooper and co in charge is that we could eventually start pushing the three thousand and above mark !. If that were to happen, and I'm confident it will-a lot of those new faces etc will want to be assured of cover when the bad weather comes in. I know it all boils down to finance, but, I wonder what the possibility is of extending the cover on the Wilkie stand to full length of the terracing from the Bluebird Club to the Steelworks End otherwise, a lot may be put off coming during the winter if they can't be assured of cover...just a thought.

I never thought I'd say this, but we missed Dimitri Sea, lurking in the box, pouncing on those lose balls! Do we need anyone else in, when we've got Sea, Zanzala, Williams and Gordon? I'm not sure!

Yes look at their goalscoring records last night we had no one looking for a loose ball, as for Sea jury's out for me he's still learning, we need someone who's proven or a quality loanee such as Tyler Smith now he was good!

Re: Barrow v Exeter City match thread
Yes, yes we do. When Zanzala was absolutely cream crackered last night we only had Luke James to bring on. Groundhog Day but Luke James isn’t scoring the goals we need to be comfortable in this league
Re: Barrow v Exeter City match thread
Totally agree here. Sea is only 19 and on a learning curve - he will score goals but not the amount we need this season. Williams is more of a winger so I'd say an experienced striker/quality loanee is still required. Trouble is many other teams in our division are saying the same thing....except Bradford City - wonder why?
On another issue if Sea is a concussion injury then we wont see him for the next three games I think.
Noticed Exeter going on and on about missing 5/6 players due to covid/sending off's and injuries. We had 5 unavailable last night. Think their fans on the Exeter forum felt we should be little Barrow who let them walk all over us so they complain about our nasty horrible way of playing. Laughable.
Re: Barrow v Exeter City match thread
Yeah, I totally get that... I suppose there are also rumours that James is wanting to head back to Hartlepool too. I suppose that wouldn't be a sad loss, considering he hasn't been prolific. Zanzala was absolutely gassed last night and it's true, we didn't really have any real firepower on the bench.
I do trust Cooper and have faith in both his and the boards plan!

Would love to see Tyler back with us. Wasn't even on the bench for Blades first game of the season . Scored twice and missed a penalty for the u-23 side in a 4-0 win at Watford yesterday. Problem is he has already been out on loan four times and has probably reached the stage where he wants to fight for a first team chance under a recently appointed new manager. He tried to end his loan at Swindon because he wasn't getting a game and was desparate to play.
