Agreed, at one point one of the Hartlepool players clapped him for getting one of many decisions their way, and the incompetent liner returned a grin, like “don’t worry son, I got you”

I thought it was more like "Bless, he probably thinks he is being amusing".

Mile Pike was a great referee.He was my apprentice and I suggested he should become a referee when he was a young lad as he was interested in football but didn't think he was skilful
enough.to get into a team.He left not long after he came out if his time to become a policeman.He is probably one of the best people to be an assessor.No doubt if he did think the linesman was sub standard he will have written a report reflecting that.It,s just a pity we didn't have a few more referees and officials as good as he was.

I'm a bit sceptical about these top eight, bottom eight budget claims.

So we've supposedly got a decent budget and Carlisle are supposed to have one of the lowest budgets in the division.

I've never made reference to any other team so don't know where Carlisle comes into it.

Carlisles budget is one of the lowest in the league. They have IMO the best manager in league 2 who has signed wisely and vastly improved the players he inherited. Midfield player Moxon their outstanding player this season signed on a free was playing part time football for Annan last season.

I know its hard to find a decent striker but we've got to improve on what we've signed in the last couple of seasons.

The problem is isn’t our forward line it’s the supply chain when we play as we are even Oliver Twist got fed more than our strikers. It ain’t pretty but as has shown lately it grinds out results in the main. We rely heavily on Whitfield and Gotts when they aren’t quite at the top of their game we struggle for a creative spark Josh Kay offers something a little different too but has been injured.

Sorry but I can't agree with that, the amount of times Whitfield and Brough put decent balls into the box with no one on the end of them is ridiculous,

Absolutely, I think I said that in my earlier post. It must be so frustrating for them to be doing their job but no one in the penalty area is doing theirs.

Whitfield has mainly been giving opposing keepers catching practice of late looping lobs that the keeper takes with ease. And Broughy has been conspicuous by his absence in the final third all too often this season due mainly to team tactics.

Anyway just to close this topic off. I’ve been to Harrogate on many occasions to watch Barrow.Possibly due to being an EFL club now,and visiting many decent grounds, but Saturday made me realise how tin pot they are, in every respect. It’s such a non league set up, that the football experience is drained from you, that along with the rubbish we watched on the pitch,contributed to one to forget.
