Turnstiles
My Dad and I turned up at 3.15 today. We'd waited bit to make sure the game was on. Once we found out it had started we made our way down to holker street. Every single turnstile was locked, so the two of us, and another man who was waiting to get in had to go home. Totally ridiculous. I don't know what time the turnstiles normally shut, but I'd have thought it would be sensible on a day like today to keep them open for latecomers. They've missed out on £40 odd quid there. And no doubt they'll be complaining about the attendance.
Another example of the amateurish running of the club.

Re: Turnstiles
I was late from ferrying children about today and got there at 3:11pm and also locked! Getting beat so sounds like i saved the £25+ i was going to spend oh well!
Re: Turnstiles
I understand your frustration, but if the turnstiles are shut, you can get in if you go into the cross bar and pay there (i think!!)
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it
Re: Turnstiles
I will remember that for next time, however i think i saved some pennies today anyways:)tictactoe wrote:I understand your frustration, but if the turnstiles are shut, you can get in if you go into the cross bar and pay there (i think!!)

Daft that
Re: Turnstiles
then perhaps the club should put up signs on the closed turnstiles to tell people.tictactoe wrote:I understand your frustration, but if the turnstiles are shut, you can get in if you go into the cross bar and pay there (i think!!)

Re: Turnstiles
Why are you moaning, believe me it was a stroke of luck on your part - I wish I'd turned up at 3.15

Re: Turnstiles
It reallly hacked me off. That's five people that wanted to contribute £70 to the club, and we weren't able to. I didn't know you could get in through the cross bar - and why should I? They should be making it as easy as possible for people to be getting in - not locking them out for god's sake.
While I'm at it - I'm another who was trying to renew my (silver) membership by phone a few weeks ago. I got fed up with trying. The club send out reminders for members to renew, then don't man the phones. It's ludicrous. I haven't renewed yet - it has slipped my mind. Why the hell should we be struggling so much to be able to contribute??!!

Re: Turnstiles
Sounds like a poor wind-up to me?
Did you really not bother to go to the Cross Bar to enquire where you could get in.
The posters who've commented about not being able to get in late have been posting and commenting on this forum regularly for a while now. Clearly they have no common sense whatsoever and are just trying to start another needless dig at the club?

No pitch inspections were announced so why wouldn't you just come for 3pm?

Re: Turnstiles
I didn't come at 3 because it was totally lashing down and I thought it might be called off at the last minute. Plus I live a 15 minute drive away and lots of the roads were flooded so I didn't want to waste a trip.
I'm not getting into justifying why I did what and when. I'm just saying that I shouldn't have to chase around in order to hand over £100 to the club, which is what I've been trying to do (with the match today and my hitherto fruitless attempts to renew my membership).
