New Years Day

I recently had a conversation about what the attendance might be on NYD (this is of course if Barrow & Fylde continue roughly on the path they both are following at the moment) and we seemed to be a little bit apart on our estimates.

I reckon we should be pushing 2500, slightly more if the weather is decent, my friend is a bit more opptimistic & thinks we'll be above that. This is also quite important because the club will need to have a decent amount of turnstiles open to accomodate what should be a good gate on the day.

What do we think, or expect it could be?

Assuming both ourselves and Kirkham continue winning then we should be aiming at well over 2000.

We should be promoting advance ticket sales as Christmas presents/stocking fillers etc - it'd help get everyone in the ground quicker too.

Ithink that we will be let down by the attendance of the away fans ian, i will go for around 1900. but dave is right we need to push ticket sales for the 3 home games [special price] boston 20th dec harrogate 28th dec and fylde 1st jan :scarf:

Ian, I think it will be more likely around the 2000 mark for this game they will bring around 150 on a good day, less if they get beaten on boxing day. The Furness public have not all bought into the new vision yet. I think we will get around 2500 towards the end of the season though all things being well and hopefully a league trophy in sight, maybe more if Stockport and Chorley are hanging on in there!

The owner of Fylde put on free coaches for fa cup at Plymouth and even free bus for supporters who flew in from Manchester so they only had air fare. He also subsidised the travel to Kings Lynn so perhaps he will do the same on New Year's day as a present to the fans and knowing what an important game it will be.

I understand the point about the away support but even without considering what they will bring I would expect to smash the 2k attendance. We've been up to 1600 & 1700 + for two run of the mill league games so far this season, where this is traditionally a decent turn-out with the added attraction of a possible clash between 1st & 2nd with perhaps the winners going top.
There are always people who go to the festive fixtures who very rarely go to any league games throughout the rest of the season. I'll stick by (if we both carry on as we are) 2,400 with whatever they bring.

A very good idea is to put tickets for the festive season on early to promote. Even to the extent of good reductions to buy all 3 for that period.
I would expect to have 2000 for Fylde regardless and a faster movement at the turnstiles.
Maybe buy the 3 then 4th for new year at half price. Just hope that the powers that be are taking good positive notes. [Yeah they will]

I'm not sure we need to offer any discounts, just getting them on sale early enough should help.

I think 2000 + is possible with decent marketing.

2500 I think is very unlikely- end of season if we are pushing for promotion possibly..

These Christmas & pre & post Xmas games should be on offer from next week onwards as Many people are Xmas shopping now and in the next few weeks.

INDEED, I think that the gate will reach 1700+ if ourselves and AFC Fylde are still challenging. THE festive fixtures always attract a number of drunkards and people coming for a 'day out' and not to see the football on offer.

In today's programme, Paul cassons piece says "we will be announcing some special provisions for the holiday period and the new years day game in particular, details will be forthcoming". Not sure if that means offers, travel arrangements etc but we will wait and see

There is a deal for the 3 games . Buy all 3 and get five pounds off. So £34? for 3 I think.
Was being advertised yesterday in the bar.

Good incentive, hope these flyers go inside the NWEM & the Adverstzer and put in all the main supermarket store and pubs etc to reach the general population etc

If we are still the top 2 will be around 2000, can't see it being anymore with a low away support
