Player of the year awards to take place in the crossbar at 5.30 after the Macclesfield home game (9th April).

I'd vote for Cook. Without his goals early on in the season we could've been in for a nervous run in, not forgetting the amount of battling he's done with long balls over the course of the season.

Why do we seem to be the only club in the whole of football that has to squeeze a quick and awkward awards ceremony into the crossbar right after a game.

Every other club seems to be able to arrange proper awards nights, a bit of a ceremony, players dress up, some food and entertainment, make something of it etc. Even when I played for walney under 16s we had proper awards nights for [SwearFilter] sake.

Oh, and yeah Cook for me too. If J. Williams had been here all season he'd be nailed on for me for both his ability and effort.

Could even be a bit of a money spinner in itself, if you did it as a ticketed event, maybe free entry for season ticket holders and a couple of quid for everyone else, write it into players contracts they have to stay for it or whatever, put on some food and entertainment, auction off kit etc...

Maybe even look at combining it with the end of season dinners the trust do?

Unless Phil Collier is choosing it I would also agree with Cook (but JW during his stint here would walk it).
I wish we could also vote for Most Useless Player Of The Year too!

It could be a longish list hoss! Unless you have one particular in mind Cooky might win everything this year. But Livesy has been tremendous.

Something for the new commercial manager to think about for next season maybe - properly hosted Evening event with all sorts going on bit of food and entertainment etc.

On another unrelated note I saw at the weekend someone tweeted asking if the cross bar does food - it doesn't I don't go in so I didn't know but again that is poor - even having some sandwiches available especially if the club want people to start coming earlier

Interesting in the mail it says weather permitting the awards could be held outside and can be a celebration for all the club
So with 8000 tickets going out round schools for our 4600 capacity stadium... Will the crowd top 3000... I hope so!!!

How many clubs award player of the season with 4 games to go we just cant get anything right can we.

I presume they're going to ask people to vote at the Braintree game, so they're asking people to vote on player of the year when there's still 6 games of football to watch!

Can only assume it's either because they suddenly decided they want to time it for this family fun day which is next week or it's because Casson is over for that game but not over for the last game against Wrexham? What a load of ill-thought out, rushed rubbish.

Is this player of the year or player of the season?

If the former, April is a bizarre time to have it, if the latter, why the hell isn't it after the season has finished?

Sorry to speak off topic. But this does highlight the issue of players not living in barrow even more. Ste's said everything anyone really needs to. Shite !
