Well we’ve tried the ex pro… didn’t work.

Tried the ex paedo or whatever he was… didn’t work

Tried the manager with loads of experience at this level… didn’t work.

If we are going down the young ambitious route how about Steve McNulty. Already stated he wants to go into management and is working his way gradually up the ladder. Player-coach at Witton Albion onto coaching Tranmere u-18s now combined with assistant manager at Chester City. Certainly knows the club and fans and would certainly not take any nonsense. Would be a gamble I know but seems every manager we've had over the last 5 years or more has been.

I have always liked Luke garrard and wanted us to go for him after evatt left but will probably end up with Bentley.

Ian Evatt was an ambitious young manager trying to make his way and that is the route we should take again. Perhaps get some people with a knowledge of football assist the board with the decision rather than be hoodwinked by millionaire ex-player/managers and their millionaire agents looking for another payout at the end of another unsuccessful run!

I heard Pauline Fowler was interviewed but she was going nowhere without her Arfur.

Speak of the devil, he’s on tv now as a pundit, not sure how many pundits go back into management, unless he’s just on as a guest. Ryan Yates starting for forest as well, what a player he was for us. Would go for Jason Taylor for me (passionate about the game, played under various managers) or Simon Grayson.

Would we make a full time appointment? Plenty of sacked managers about but at this stage of the season they’ve been sacked for a good reason.
As we have no idea which league we’ll be playing in next season I reckon two of the players, they’d obviously know the players strengths and the club set-up, would we want to bring in someone who’s starting from scratch with nine games to go?

Agreed. Safest - and cheapest - option.

Get on the phone to Everton- Get Big Dunc in for his first full time Management role. He’d certainly show the passion needed.
