I don't understand why. That's 2 contracts cancelled now. Could have made some money from Banks, especially if hes already in talks with another club. Seems like you can take barrow out of non-league but you cant take non-league out of barrow

Would you rather they sat in the stands for the next few seasons being 2 of the highest earners at the club if they’re not wanted or don’t want to be a barrow player get rid.

Banks has only been in talks with another club because he's been free to leave.

it's 3 - Jamie Devitt, Zanzala and Banks - smart moves on the 1st 2 and Banks whilst a good player wasn't a high energy player and that's the type we'll need under Wild;- so it was a good move for both the club and Banks

Happens all the time in football, Rooney didn’t feature in Stockport's plans so they let him leave to free up a wage. As you say, no good having a big wage being tied up for another two seasons when the manager doesn’t want him.
Best of luck to him for the future, scored a lot of goals that obviously helped us survive this nightmare of a season…not forgetting his wonder goal.

Definitely be remembered as a great player. Sad to see his form drop and eventually leave. I'm sure he'll have many more years playing league football. "He thinks he Ronaldo" will be remembered for many moons.

He was our best player by a mile until he signed that contract extension, then his performances fell off a cliff, some unforgivable attempts at tackles that cost us goals and games, and it was clear to see what the other players (and manager) thought of his efforts towards the end of the season. Pure speculation of course but it may be the case that Chesterfield came calling and we asked for a fee that they wouldn't be willing to pay, so it would be better scenario overall to terminate his contract if he wasn't in Wild's plans or wanted out.

On the flip side to the above he does leave with my thanks though, without his important goals we'd have been down with a whimper, and that free kick against Barnsley will be remembered for a long time.

Difference with Rooney is that we paid a transfer fee for him.
