After our experience with the Salford postponement the answer, to quote Bob Dylan, is 'blowing in the wind' or, failing that, in the mind of the ref. Both teams considered the pitch playable and wanted it to go ahead but the ref had other ideas and called it off at the last because it might get cold at 16:00 hours even though the forecast was for it to be above freezing.

Pitch cleared or snow and looks perfect, unless it’s really frosty tonight then everything is fine
