Big Day tomorrow, excitement building.

Always look forward to this day,particularly now we are an established EFL team. There’s always certain games I look for first, this season it will be Carlisle home n away, followed by the Morecambe double header, another big one is always Bradford away , I love that one Gonna make the effort this season to tick off some new grounds.

Another big day also coming up, when the round one draw of the Carabao Cup takes place live on Sky Sports News on Thursday 27 June at 11:30am.

Being off shift for a visit to Port Vale would be a nice start . As it was a great day last visit.

Not quite as exciting as it sounds. Although the fixture generation is technically random, the interference with the list is pretty significant. A number of criteria are then applied that will change the fixture list.
One of those is whether the fixture is considered “high profile”. The clubs themselves have input into how these games should be scheduled. So whilst it’s technically possible that Carlisle could come out as the first fixture on the first list, it’s highly unlikely that it would not be shifted.
Also there is a process of smoothing fixture lists ( though some of us would find that difficult to believe) to ensure that no team plays more than two home or away or in Barrows case has more than two consecutive away trips of a significant distance.
When they finally press the button on Wednesday it will be version X Of the original list and all the clubs will already have a good idea of the shape of it and its content.
So Carlisle followed by Morecambe - no chance at all. Better to put your money on Cheltenham followed by Accrington .

FORZA BLUEBIRDS, new season new manager, but l think we should be okay.
Goods news on the financial front with the sponsors and we are due a good cup run. Only Bromley that’s London based now so will look to get over for that fixture and fingers crossed get up to Holker Street finally for a game( ( Morecambe went belly up last year) Bluebird per sempre.

Wimbledon is London based & Gillingham further away in Kent. Colchester not exactly easy to get to in Essex. But there are many Northern & Midland teams in L2 this season

August league fixtures -well done jeff1966 (inside info?) & Carlisle away second game (thoughts on that Suffolk), later on we have Morecambe at home on an international weekend. Any chance of that being postponed perhaps?

No we often get Tranmere at the beginning of the season.
I understand that in the initial computer run, the fixtures will be reversed in the same sequence in the second half of the season. Obviously they are then subject to interference rules again.
That’s why we played Tranmere in late December or early January in the last two seasons. Because we played them first.

Jeff1966 I do enjoy your inside knowledge posts, keep up the good work. Actually it’s not a bad way to start the season, a home game, and hopefully Crewe will bring more in August than they would in say November. Hopefully a gate of around the four, four and a half thousand mark.
