Tranmere tonight

Post by WalneyOne » Tue Dec 09, 2025 9:20 am

Met office forecast heavy rain gradually easing to stop by 4pm.
28/29 mph winds.
Surely the game is in doubt, which would help us having played 120 on Sat and they didn't play.

Potential to be the lowest home attendance of the season tonight.

Awful forecast, midweek, on a poor run, it's live on tv and nearly Christmas.

To be honest I hope they call it off because I think Saturdays efforts will catch us out ,not withstanding that the players then have to travel to Gillingham on Saturday!

Got to be doubtful. My garden is awash and that usually means the game is off.

If it is on let’s all get there and get behind them. It’s a lesser occasion than Saturday was but it’s probably more important.

The forecast for this afternoon is a lot better and the wind will dry the pitch. The only doubt is will the wind be too strong?

Weather doesn't look as bad as forecast predicted, can't see it being called off.

Players will be knackered after Saturday's efforts but I'm hoping the inspired effort and proof we can play will carry forward onto this game and we start a run of decent football and points on the board.

Time to turn things around starting tonight!

Not checking my balls in the garden, far too cold for that!

Wind would have to be stronger than the Shrewsbury game to be called off - that was a joke game. Is the wind stronger than that day? Stupid playing a load of L1 & L2 league games in midweek in December.

We have received a number of queries from supporters of both Barrow AFC and Tranmere Rovers regarding the state of the pitch at Holker Street.

The playing surface is in good condition and has not been subject to heavy usage in recent weeks. At this stage, we are confident that tonight’s fixture will go ahead as planned.

Current forecasts indicate that rain is due to stop this afternoon, with no further rainfall expected until after the conclusion of the match. As such, there are no major concerns at this time.

Should there be any change to the situation, we will provide further updates across our official channels.

Wind is slowly increasing now with gusts of up to 51mph forecast into tonight from the SW mainly remaining dry. I for one shall be putting personal safety first on this instance.
