Bluebirds shotstopper Ben Winterbottom has today joined Enterprise National League leaders Rochdale on a short-term loan.

Ben will link up with Dale for their next two fixtures against Scunthorpe United and Sutton United and will return to The SO Legal Stadium next week.

Absolute joke if Stanway gets injured we're stuck with a young untried kid in a relegation game against a top physical side like Bromley!

Letting goalkeeping coach Luke Daniels go wasn't the smartest move. He was very instrumental in bringing Winterbottom here and he was the only coach Stanway had had since he joined Barrow. The dynamics of the goalkeeping group will undoubtedly been damaged when Daniels left and all this unnecessary upheaval of the Goalkeeping unit has contributed to our demise lately IMO.

All this for a keeper that will go and sit on the bench at MK Dons next year. But it’s okay, he’s from Barrow.

We have far greater concerns than Wyll Stanway at the minute. Does it weaken us potentially aye but two games playing football for Ben gaining confidence hopefully then after that who knows.
Agree on the face of it letting Luke Daniels go was just plain daft but Tis the season for daft decisions.

He wasn’t in the squad last Saturday and I guess the decision was made he wouldn’t be this Saturday so he may as well be getting game time there rather than be sat in the stand here?

It’s strange he’s never been given another chance here after his comeback from injury tbh, Stanway hasn’t exactly been pulling up trees for a while now, and Winterbottoms kicking was definitely better when he did get a go in the team
