A long overdue ruling. Still clearly remember Greg Blundell covered in claret at the Holker Street End after being pushed into the perimeter wall in a game against Kettering, and the scenes that ensued at full time.

Sadly it’s taken a death to enforce the action.

Not sure how we gonna do this short term without covering sponsorship boards.

Quicker solution might be Balco SAFEWALL which is specifically designed for football pitches with concrete boundary walls. It consists of shock-absorbing padding/cladding, made to measure for the wall, with a weather-resistant top profile and protection down at foot level. The outer vinyl can also be printed with club colours or sponsors, so you don’t necessarily lose advertising space.

But, It ain’t cheap, so come on Premier League, help clubs do this. It does highlight what we are dealing with an ever ageing and high maintenance cost ground.

Was mentioned on tonight`s sport show Adam said Hornby only found out because it was on the BBC Sport Webpage, the Club were not informed about it, at least the FA and Premier League are footing the bill, big task to cover the popular side.

TBH it was always going to happen following the death of Billy Vigar. Yes the timing of the announcement was questionable but it shouldn't have come as a surprise to those clubs it concerns.

Fantastic it’s happening, but what poor timing, the day before a season is due to kick off, the padding looks to be the answer for popular side and main stand but I can only imagine it’d be cheaper and easier maintenance for the walls behind both goals to be knocked down and a different kind of fencing be put up?

Knock all for walls down if the finding is there and rebuild the stadium 😂

That’s a joke before anybody says anything 👀

With the funding in place I see no reason why we can’t get this done before Xmas

Good job for the GMV Lads on a Sunday, only joking it's going to be a very big job for whoever gets the contract.
